In several mines where you might dig for coal for example, mines is just fine as it's a plural of the word mine.
In ownership of, for example a car, you should say mine's with an apostrophe (effectively shortening "mine is"), to say something like "mine's the blue car."
Something like opinion is also owned, so if someone where to say their opinion was A, you could argue by saying, "mine's B".
