Does anyone else beside me think that this "str8 acting" epidemic going through the gay...
community is just another form or self-hatred and taking oppression away from the majority rule and placing it in our own hands?
Nope. I think the term "straight acting" isn't a helpful one, but I think the fact that more non-stereotypical gays are feeling comfortable enough to come out of the closet and live openly too is a great thing.
I've been told by many people that they never suspected I was gay until I told them, and that I'm the straightest seeming gay guy they've met. I doubt that's true, because I'm probably just the straightest seeming gay guy who has told them. But I've been comfortable with myself for years, and I'm not acting at all, nor do I harbor any self-hatred or oppression. And I'm in a great relationship and open about that too.
Gay people are just as diverse as everyone else, Justice.
some gays do the straight acting so they wont get hurt in any form.all because of not be trully accepted it makes you think "i gotta live a certain way to have what i need even tho i aint happy with it."i have a uncle that did it.he told me if a woman is what makes me happy go for it.dont do what he did.he led a ex wiffe on for 25 yrs then left her for a man.
