    How do you respond when someone asks "why are you single?"

    Men are seldom if ever asked this question. The assumption is because he has not asked anyone to marry him. In other words he's single by "choice". It's really non of anyone's business why you're single but if you just want a funny  or sarcastic answer you may say something along the lines of,
    "I decided to work my way though all the a-holes before settling down. Who knew there were so many?"

    I like to say, "Because I am too much woman for an average man to handle."  If it is a man asking me that question, I will add, "Why, are you up for the challenge?"  No wonder I scare men away.

    "What's wrong with being single?" to shame them into not asking inappropriate questions. Finding mutual attraction these days is hard enough, people!
