What is the best way to give advice?
Don't give advise, no one really wants it and the one's who ask will get mad if it does not work out. So keeping advise to yourself is always the best way to handle advise giving.
Always check your intentions before giving advice and if it is advice that will benefit you in anyway then don't give it.
Make sure that you are "in check" with the reasons for giving the advice and not just because you want something your way. All to often we tend do give advice because we believe that our way is the only correct way of handling something, which is not true at all and may cause more damage than good.
If it is something that will help another give them the advice and other options you may have learned from someone else.
Be honest, be sincere and make sure you leave any intention besides helping that person behind. Also don't take someone rejecting your advice personally.
Consider very carefully you own motivation for giving the advice, particularly if it is uninvited. Consider the outcome of your advice should the recipient act upon it.
The best way to give advice is first to do the thing yourself which you wish others to do. Then you will find that there is no need to give any advice.

What makes someone good at giving advice and/or taking it?Once upon a time I was neither good at taking advice nor confident enough to give it. These days, I find not only that I am much better at heeding the wisdom of others... but I am confident in my judgement enough to know when it is...
