I would suggest that you DON'T mentally prepare for a blind date; just arrive as your authentic self. Be who you are. If you attend a blind date with a mental script it will show.
Don't put any pressure on yourself or have high expectations. Just go with the flow. Plan on enjoying the event/meal or whatever. If things click with the other person that's icing on the cake. If they don't click then at least you enjoyed the event/meal...etc (And most likely you'll have a funny story to relay to your friends)
Too many people approach dating as if it is a job or life or death mission. No one is asking you to decide whether to cut the red wire or the blue wire! (It's just a date. Relax and be yourself) :-)
