   Yes. I think it's common courtesy so you do not ruin anyone else's day. The only person who can brighten my day when I'm in a bad mood is my husband. So I curse him with my presence.

   Yes. I don't want to rain on someone else's parade. Too often people blow up like a time bomb from the slightest irritation when they are around others while in a bad mood.
   You should be the first person to know when you are not feeling like (yourself) or in a "bad mood". Having said that you should also know what it takes for you to get into a better mood. Therefore it should not be a case of you pulling a disappearance for days or weeks at a time.

   I personally prefer to be alone, initially, as I have an introverted nature in the sense of replenishing my energy and processing my emotions. After I have processed things and know where my bad mood stems from, I like to talk about it with someone I trust and confide in. Whereas a different person, with an extroverted nature replenishes their energy, processes their emotions and lifts their spirits by surrounding themselves with people (especially those they trust), and would likely prefer to be with others.
