      Many people take everything the media says as gospel, myself, I don't listen to em , maybe watch the news once a week or so,but for alot of people what they say, goes unfourtanatly if they are saying hairy men are ugly then many people will belive it, I personally don't judge people by weather or not they have hair

   It's nothing new, in ancient Greece, and the Roman empire body hair was considered unattractive and removed. They may have believed it further separated them from the barbarians surrounding them. It comes and it goes and its the same for women, in the 70's women were much hairier then the manicured and waxed women I meet today.
   
   Most of the men I know that shave it all do so because it accentuates their muscle tone and also makes them look younger. That being said I haven't really met many women that had an issue with a little chest hair, now fur down the back and shoulders is another story.

   I have wondered this same thing! I LOVE a hairy chest!
   
   I taught high school seniors, and we always watched "Anne of the thousand Days." There's a scene with Richard Burton and the actress who played Anne, where they were in bed. When they saw Burton's big hairy chest, all the girls in class would always be grossed out, while I was secretly turned on.

    Okay, this is for the guys: What would you think of a woman who had hair on her areolas? My husband said he went out one time with a woman like that, and I remember seeing a cousin take off her bra once, and she had hair there. It kinda freaked me out because I didn't know women could have hairy nipples. What would you guys do if you encountered such??

          Nip hair is one thing, but one night many years ago back in the 20th century I went home with a young lady who I first noticed didn't shave her legs or armpits . . . fine, that doesn't really bother me. But then I got her t-shirt off and she had more hair on her stomach than I did. Allow me to confirm that that is no small amount. Yikes!

                   I was in a band back then, and those chics were disgusting.  They were 'all natural' meaning they didn't shave anything and took a bath every other month, if they needed it or not.

    Its sad that 20-30 years ago guys were very masculine and hairy. That is hardly the case nowadays. it seems that most girls like feminine guys...??WTF!!   
    
    what about Pierce Brosnan, a young Sean Connery and Harrison ford, or even Jake Gyllenhaal? they all have some hair, are they not attractive?

    Guys who spend more time at a spa than I don't appeal to me. If they need manicures, waxing, and the like...they don't really look like men to me, they look more like boys

       i think men who shave or whatever they do to get all of their body hair off resemble plucked chickens. the only men that looks good on are Olympic swimmers and divers.
       
       of course, Robin Williams.... yikes! that would be like gettin' down with Smokey the Bear :x
       
       if a woman has body hair like that, she should remove it. i would, if i did.

       i don't hold people's body hair against them, but i do think good grooming is very important for men and women.

    Depends on how hairy he is. Hairy chest is okay as long as there's not so much of it that it pops out the top of his shirt when the top button is open - that's just too hairy and gross. Way too much when the man looks like he's covered is a rug - just nasty.
    
    My brother has way too much on his back & chest. Me or my sister will wax his back & chest for him when it gets too bad.

    Hairiness is not really something I would care about in a man.
    Having said that I would prefer if he didn't shave his chest or other parts. I like hairiness.

    If you love someone does it matter how much hair he/she has? My ex girfriend had alot of hair on her back, but I didn't hold that against her.
