    If you want a beautiful cake to (look) at go with the Fondant but if you want you and your guest to actually enjoy the taste while (eating) a wedding cake go with Buttercream. :-)

    I agree that butter cream tastes better. I've described fondant as 'sweet leather'. I don't hate it, but I generally eat around it and throw it away. However if you want a shaped cake, as in something more elaborate than tiers, then you have no choice but to use fondant. So it's really just a matter of which you find more important; taste or looks.

    Butter cream sounds a wonderful idea. I like the photo and agree with dashingscorpio
