Try to live in the present moment. All you have now is what is in your life here and now. Make the best of what you have right now in this moment. Don't dwell on the past. Live for now. Do things that make you happy such as possibly watching funny shows, listening to music, dancing, exercising. Do whatever gives you personal joy and can make you happy now in the moment without negative consequences. Fake it until you make it. Think positive thoughts. Smile when you don't feel like it. They say that can make you happy without you even knowing it. Smile at someone, they smile back. Don't let your negative thoughts of the past spoil your present moment now.

The number one reason why people have such a difficult time "moving on" is because deep down they really don't want to! (They're still hoping for a reconciliation with their ex.)
In order to "move on" you have to (want) to "let go".
You can't get to second base if you keep one foot on first base.
After you're done grieving, remove all reminders/gifts and photos, unfriend them in social media, delete and block phone numbers and emails, get back into investing time in hobbies you may have neglected. You had a "life" before you met him or her.
Thankfully there are over (7 Billion) other people on the planet.
Keep things in perspective! Stop romanticizing the past!
In order for your (ex) to have been "the one" he/she would have had to see (you) as being "the one". At the very least a "soul-mate' is someone who actually WANTS to be with you!
Your future lies ahead of you and not behind you.
Every ending is a new beginning!
    Best wishes!

To be happy, we should just focus on the present instead of dwelling in the past. To be happy, we have to be grateful for all the blessings in our lives.
