The Joy of True Love (prose/poem)
the contentment of true love
Lying in your arms, my head against your shoulder,
l can hear your heartbeat.
You touch my hair and smooth it down
as you gently kiss my forehead.
And l can hear your heartbeat.
l hear the words ´l love yóu´
in your deep sonorous voice,
as you pull me closer to you so that
you too can hear MY heartbeat..
There is nowhere else l´d rather be
than where l am right now.
Tears well up into my eyes
with sentimental feelings.
The love within this room right now
could last for generations.....
O, love, my love, how blessed are we?
Some people never know this..
never feel the depth of love.. the passion that IS us.!
When we´re entwined l know l´m you
And you are me. We´re one.!
l never feel so safe and warm
as when we lie like this.
Never feel so precious
as when you gently touch my skin.
You touch my hair and whisper the words
l want to hear.
And l believe them., know you´re true
just as when l l tell you, you know that l am too.
Again l feel your heartbeat.
Don´t ever leave me, please not ever,
l´d be half a person then.
And you, you know l´ll never leave, not ever.
Together we are one
listening to each others heartbeats,.
l touch your chest and let my fingers slide across your skn,
Then snuggle deep into your shoulder,
joy of true love
