Divine Diva Angels Defined

A "Diva" is defined with mixed connotations, both positive and negative. It is demonstrated in how one thinks of themselves and expresses those thoughts to others in words and actions. Webster’s Dictionary defines "Diva" as Prima Donna [Italian – goddess; Latin – divine, god]. Prima Donna is defined as a principal female singer (as in an opera); and an extremely sensitive, vain, or undisciplined person [Italian – first lady].

I believe there is a Diva in all of us and it is a good thing; however, the Diva within must be tempered by strengthening our divine spirit with spiritual practices. In order to express the true essence of God’s intended purpose and walk in our "Diva Divinity," I offer the following acronym I created for Rev Valerie Love's former prayer, praise and inspiration "Boost" community’s "Diva Coming Out Party" Weekend Retreat.

DIVA


D - Disciplined Mind: Nurture the divinity within you; spend quality quiet time with God, the Divine One. Entertain God’s presence every day. Keep "PUSHing" to do what you don’t want to do or are resistant to doing until you can do what you desire to do. P.U.S.H – Pray Until Something Happens.

I - Inspiring Spirit: Are you leaving a legacy for your successors? How or what do you want to be remembered for? Set an intention to inspire and encourage people by the essence of who you are, what you do, and how you do it.

V - Victorious Life: Surrender totally to God. Trust Him to work out the details. Praise God in and through everything and be obedient to His instructions.

A - Attitude of Gratitude: Be thankful in everything, knowing it is not about you, but all about God, who made you, saved you, keeps you and gives you all things good. Discover an inner place of contentment whatever the circumstances.

ANGELS

A - Angels on Assignment: Wherever you are in whatever you do, do it unto God. There is a plan and purpose for your current position. Be fully present, use your gifts, and reflect the Mind of Christ in all your actions.

N - Neighborly and Nurturing: Be inclusive of others and build them up from the inside out. However, set boundaries and learn to discern who you allow to come close or be ministered to from a distance.

G - Grow and Glow: Grow in grace & power. God’s grace is sufficient for all experiences of life. Radiate the empowering light of truth. Learn and live the Holy Word through the Spirit at work within you. Shimmer and shine bathed in God’s anointing, and drip with favor.

E - Embrace Their Divinity: Know who you are in God and who He is in you. Accept it, walk it, talk it, and be it! You are a powerful gift.

L - Love Unconditionally: Be and demonstrate love to yourself, each other, and others at large. Remove any judgments and strings attached. Forgive all.

S - Serve and Support: Be intentional about being a blessing. Minister to others through prayers, presence, smiles, hugs, listening …; be yourself and Spirit led.
