Faith and Love, Faith is a Teacher

Updated on August 24, 2014

With faith one can climb such mountains, with faith and love the journey becomes epic.

Why not climb the highest peaks and not only get there but get there with help.

We cannot have true love without faith. Faith is belief in that not seen. And Love is like that, it is faith in that not proven. Love without faith is dead and faith without love is unseen.

Faith for those with it can carry even unseen problems. Faith and love together form bonds not just between God and man but between people. I have the utmost faith in Faith Reaper and Shanmarie to always write meaningful and cherished articles in faith. And so it is I love to read their hard work, and have come to love them in earnest.

Here is a passage from Shanmarie’s great hub on Faith and Hope found here: http://shanmarie.hubpages.com/hub/Faith-and-Hope referencing a hub found here: http://faithreaper.hubpages.com/hub/Faith-Without-Borders-Project-Good-Words-Musical-Challenge-on-HubPages

"I was surprised when our one and only, most beautiful Faith Reaper sent me an email about taking the baton of faith from her, following her Faith Without Borders hub. She certainly knows a thing or two about that word and all that it entails and she spreads love, hope, and faith just by being herself. So it was quite an honor to read that she had me in mind to pass it on to!"

And so it happened that Shanmarie passed a simple baton on to me and as usual I was scared to death at receiving such an honor. Who me? Why me? What?. And then I fell to my default position and began to feel better. The baton was passed in love and now all I had to do was apply faith. Wow how wonderful faith is in times of doubt. Just have faith and take that first step and that second and soon you are where you are supposed to be.

Let me borrow from the 12 steppers. We admitted we were powerless over situations, people places and things. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves was greater than all problems of the day and earth. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

So with my will gone and replaced by faith I can move forward and do just fine in following two such great ladies.

Let us press on to that which is before me.

We always need a little help:

Let us begin by bending knees and read some good stuff to get us in the Spirit:

Proverbs 20:24 says, "A man's steps are of the Lord; how then can a man understand his own way?" "a man's heart plans his way, the Lord directs his steps" (Proverbs 16:9).

"For even the demons believe in God -- and tremble!" (James 2:19)

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him" (James 1:5).

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Proverbs 9:10

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23:4

In fact that light is always shining we just get separated and confused. So all we have to do is grab a hold again. Let there only be one set of footprints in t

How much faith in a ladder -- how much more in God.

Is it a magic wand? (or in this case baton ;-) or is it in shiny words and platitudes? Is it in a practice or some liturgy? Why not? It can be in all those things and it can just as simply be in tragedy. “If you can meet triumph and disaster and treat those two impostors just the same” Kipling.

I suggest to you that faith is what turns all those things into praise and a wonderful and fulfilling life.

2 Corinthians 5:7 says, "We walk by faith, not by sight."

Let Him wrap His arms around you today and comfort you with the perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18.

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light" (Ephesians 5:8).

A sunrise across the worlds largest canyon, in faith the day will be great

Faith can help us carry the weight of worldly things into a state of grace.

"If it be thy will" is the heart of Faith.

Taken from Matthew 6: 9-13 (ESV)

This lays faith out for me in my world. It is how I surround myself and I say it with others daily:

9 Pray then like this:

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

(thank you to Biblegateway for helping there)

Be honest here.

Can you live my the Lord's Prayer and let it be HIs will?

Never hurts to read about faith.

A few parting words.

I wish I could put faith and love into words. It would please me greatly. But I cannot. I can wish and pray them for you. And I have them and I would like to give them to you. So perhaps this says it the best that I can. I can love you and have faith in you because I was first loved and had faith put in me when the Holy Father made me.

And so it is that I have faith and love.

Please be an honest person.

Thank you, Eric. Talk about lofty expectations! I think perhaps you see in me only what you choose to see. You see positive even when I am not always expressing positive feelings. For that I am grateful, though.

You did an excellent job speaking about faith, friend. It's very much like you, giving and encouraging love for and of others. I think faith and love do indeed go hand in hand, just as do faith and hope or faith and courage.

      Hi Dear Eric,

You have expressed yourself beautifully here in sharing your perspective on faith and love, as both go hand-in-hand no doubt! Having faith in the unseen it where that trust comes into play too, and then our hope. Faith is expecting without any proof of what will be and then trusting what is to come no matter the outcome.

I am so happy that dear Shan passed the baton of the "Good Word" of FAITH to you after I had passed it on to her. Let's keep this good word of faith going, truly without any borders.

      Up ++++ and away

God bless you and yours always

      Blessing and hugs

What borders and what restrictions?? As you show daily Faith Reaper there need be none. Our wonderful faith allows us not to be inhibited or afraid but to give and leave ourselves open to love. While we may be disappointed from time to time we shall never be disappointed in Him.

      Thank you

O' Bill I had a hard day growing my garden of 4 children and worship and preaching time.

May both our gardens grow beautiful in the eyes of our creator.

What a beautiful project, and you made great strides carrying the baton. Faith and Love really cannot be separated. Look what happened at Calvary? God's love embracing man's faith in Him!

When we exercise our faith, we feel the unconditional love of God. It is like tasting of a fruit that is sweet, and fills our soul with joy! Thanks for accepting the baton, and sharing your faith and love with us, Eric!

There are never enough persons sharing the Word and the Love of God, never enough sharing of the redemption through Jesus' shed blood, never enough sharing the confident assurance of eternal life.... so glad that you picked up the baton... God Bless You

I can't remember a day in my life when I did not say the prayer of Matthew 6:9-13. My grandfather was a preacher and my momma was a preacher's daughter - the kind that followed the teachings of a man who lived by faith. What a beautiful reminder of how much love and faith are very closely related. Love doesn't live without faith and faith doesn't live without love. Until now, I had not thought of it like that.

Shanmarie. It is His will that I failed to previously respond to your post. For it requires special attention and causes me to look deep inside myself so I put it aside and never came back until today.

I reckon I am a bit Pollyanna when it comes to viewing others. But i do declare that is a fault I am not willing to change. Thank you for making me review it and decide for myself that I have it and will not change it.
