Hubbers Who Have Been My Support System: Installment Fifteen

I am so damn grateful I could just spit! In fact, I think I will……patooie!

I love HubPages! I love my fellow Hubbers! I love commenting and receiving comments and I love getting to know fellow writers along the way. Seven months ago I was at best a struggling writer wannabe who had no clue how he would be accepted in a writing community. In fact, I had dragged my feet for at least six months, debating whether to even join HubPages. Bev gave me the little shove I needed (she’s good at that) and the rest, as they say, is history.

For those of you just starting out, you are in the right place. Become part of the community; make friends, follow other Hubbers, leave meaningful comments, and you can have the bevy of riches I have.

I remember following someone the first week after I had joined, and that person had something like 1.6 thousand followers. I thought there was no way that was possible; it must be a scam or a computer glitch of some sort. No, it just turned out that person was one heck of a writer (and ambassador) and people recognized quality and followed her. No computer glitch at all; just good, fundamental writing and a good human being; that’s all it took.

I was helped along the way and now it’s my turn again to say thank you! As long as I’m still above ground I’ll keep churning out these thank you hubs! I have a lot of people to get to, so let’s get this party started.

LORD FROM NEW JERSEY

Actually his name is lord de cross on HubPages and he is a prolific writer with over 300 hubs to his credit. Of the 300, the one that touched me the most was his tribute to his grandfather. You can find it at http://lorddecross.hubpages.com/hub/Our-Inspiration-As-a-Writer.

In that hub you will get a glimpse of all the reasons why I like this man. He has wit (tons of it), he cares deeply, he is insightful and he exhibits loyalty. Lord is one of those people I will look up the next time I go to the east coast, because I think it would be a kick to sit over lunch and just enjoy him in person.

JOSH 3418

The one, the only, Josh! This kid hit HubPages like a storm trooper and he hasn’t let up since that first day. I’m not sure when he sleeps because no matter when I’m making a comment or no matter when I’m on Facebook, there he is.

Josh writes haikus. Josh writes limericks. Josh writes….everything! I think, of all his Hubs, the one I like best is http://josh3418.hubpages.com/hub/Twin-Life. In it he talks about life as an identical twin and it is an interesting insight into a life most of us can only imagine.

THIS LADY IS IN NO WAY DIM

But she is….Dim Flaxenwick by name….and an absolute joy to follow. I don’t even know how to describe Dim; she is so eclectic in her talents that to pidgeon-hole her with one description would not do justice to her.

I do know for a fact she is a first-rate writer and a first-rate follower. PEGGY W

This introduction is going to sound weird but it in no way is meant to be. Do you know how wonderful it feels when you slip on your favorite pair of slippers, or curl up with your favorite comforter? Well now you know why I like Peggy W. She is a positive, compassionate woman who always has something nice to say. Who wouldn’t love her?

She has a number of Hubs about her traveling adventures but I chose the following Hub to highlight because I like the man she wrote about. . Read it and you will get a taste for her writing talent, and if you start following her you will get a taste for what a genuinely nice person she is.

JANINE….OH HOW I LOVE THAT NAME

There are some names that just roll off of the tongue. Janine is one of those names. There are some people who just manage to burrow into your heart. Janine is one of those people.

If you must know, I decided I would follow this woman forever when I saw her pictures on Facebook. There is a picture of her and her husband and kids, and that family looks so happy and in love. I just thought that was really cool, and everything I have learned about Janine since then has been equally cool.

WHAT IS A DEXTER?

Well, for me, a Dexter is a hilarious man from the Chicago area who makes me laugh every single time I read one of his political hubs. Beyond that, however, he is an insightful man who leaves wonderful comments that let you know he actually has read your Hub.

I bring you Suzie HQ from Dublin, Ireland, although she may not live there right now. She travels a lot and then she turns me green with envy by writing about the many places she has visited.

Jasmine is her name and she has been around Hub Town for two years now. Naturally, I’m a little late coming to her show, but I’m here now and singing her praises. I like people who leave insightful comments. No “nice hub” out of this lady. Every comment has her own mark on it and shows that she actually cares about what she has read.
