On "The Power"

Updated on February 11, 2012

My last piece of writing was on “The Secret” and Mr. Spirit Whisperer (http://spiritwhisperer.hubpages.com/) left me a comment, mentioning that he would be interested in what I had to say about the sequel to “The Secret”, which is titled: “The Power”. I personally liked “The Secret” better but that is just a personal preference.

“The Power” focuses on the power of love. As most of us know love has no limit thus, it is something extremely powerful. If one uses love in his/her endeavours, success is almost guaranteed. I say almost because we, as individuals have free will and that free will can also result in anything. That is the only thing which can affect the power of love: free will.

Therefore, I think it is important to understand love. The love that I am talking about is not the romantic, Shakespearean love. It is not the love between Romeo and Juliet. That, speaking from a psychological point of view, is not love. It is more of an addiction (in regard to the rewards gotten from the relationship at hand) and it generally happens between young adults or adolescents because their brains are still forming and are more prone to addictions in general.

Love as I see it, is an ingredient. I say an ingredient because I always think about it when I cook. Sometimes people are surprisingly pleased when I cook and when they ask me what my ingredients are, I usually give them the list but I never fail to mention that one needs to also add love when cooking. I get strange looks but it’s true.

Try it next time. Add love when cooking and You will see what I mean. You have to have love for your vegetables or your meat ... You have to do your prep (washing, pealing, cutting, etc.) with love and care – with appreciation. You have to understand what You are working with and love is just that: understanding and accepting. And it is also important to be grateful when You think of love because love is gratefulness as well. To love means to be thankful.

Those who will read this piece of writing will enjoy it because I added love here as well. I wrote this piece of writing from the heart and with heart. I did not do it for money, to get praises or anything of that sort. I wrote it because Mr. Spirit Whisperer asked me to do it and I did it for him, with love.

I do encourage people to give “The Power” a try: costs nothing but your attention. The power of love has no boundaries - it can get You anywhere. Cheers!

Thank You for the visit and comment here as well, Coffegginmyrice.

Your love for cooking shows through your decsription of how you approach the subject: "Labour of Love" - great way to look at it.

I think with the Power of Love, You will get to where You want to be. Keep the faith and be resilient! Cheers, I wish You all the very best!

Hi Mr. Happy, finally I'm here and "The Power" and "free will" do speak to me. I totally agree with you that without the "power of love", man will never get through satisfied at any thing. No matter how hard he tries, how hard he works, how hard his journey would take him far, without the inner pulsation of feelings that one have to love what one does to get what one wants, man will never make it to become happy and man will keep looking, because it is never enough.

I do put love in my cooking too. And I enjoy every bit of the work from marketing to the last cleaning up of the mess I've made in the kitchen. Washing hands so many times in between does not make me cut short my time in the kitchen. Because I love to post my dishes on FB, I do the preparation up to the presentation with love. On my Facebook, the food itself is full of "colourful love and taste"...all out from what we call "Labour of Love".

On the present side, I put my focus on the kind of work I love to do and with the Power of Love and willpower, I never ceased to put my hopes to believing that there is a job that is right for me and waiting for me to have it.

Thank you for leading me here, Mr. Happy. You write well with inspiration.

      Hello Mr. Diogenes,

I would love to know what You meant by You being "not quite sure about free will"? Do You think it is not also a powerful force?

      Thank You for your comment.

      Cheers!

There's no arguing that love is a huge force in its many dimensions.

I'm not quite so sure about free will, though.

      Mr. Spirit Whisperer,

You are very welcome. You asked what I thought about "The Power" and I thought I would answer ...

I am not sure what the Man in Orange said about much because I know Him only in Spirit but that is how I can best describe love: a form of power one can add to anything in Life (and should in my opinion).

      Hoka-hey!

      Hello Mrs. Albertasj,

I love to cook and I never wrote anything about cooking (except in my profile) because like your father I suppose, I do not have many specific recipies ... I cook with what I have or what I feel like eating. And yes, I love putting individual ingredients together in order to make something - if love is not there then, it becomes a drag ... I see it with other people (lol).

Thank You for stopping-by. All the best!

Mr Happy, this is a very special hub and I am truly grateful to you for writing it. Of all the hubs I read this one has reached my heart and spoken to me on many levels. When you speak of love as an ingredient you used exactly the same words as the man in orange and how coincidental is that? I feel that the Great Spirit has spoken to us through your beautiful hub and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful gift of love.

This was beautiful! I found myself smiling as I read it. Very insigtfull. I'm into cooking, and my dad was a phenominal cook, who never used a recipie, nor did he ever take a cooking class. He just truely enjoyed/ loved it. He was in in his element in a kitchen. No wonder his food, no matter what it was, tasted to darn good. (To everyone) Because he LOVED putting it together. Thank you for this insight. You've definitely got me thinking Mr Happy. : ) Voted up, beautiful, and interesting.
