Anniversary Reflections - When a Young One Dies
Death is sure for that which is born, as birth is for that which is dead. Therefore grieve not for what is inevitable.
Bhagavad Gita
Thus shall you think of all this fleeting world: A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream, a flash of lightening in a summer cloud, a flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream.
The Diamond Sutra
Today is the anniversary of my 18th year old nephew who passed away four years ago. Hard to believe how time flies, as it seems like it was yesterday when our lives changed forever.
A few days ago, when she prayed and asked that she be given support in changing her memory from remembering him in his casket to seeing him as pure energy, a bracelet that she and several of his friends have been wearing in his honor, broke within seconds of asking for this shift, and the beads fell on the floor- everytime she looked at this bracelet the images of his passing would flood her mind and heart. It seems, the Universe/God and Omar support her desire to have a higher connection with her son, to embrace the grandeur of their spirit and their eternal connection:
"It [the soul] is truly an image of the infinity of God, no words can do justice to its grandeur."
William Ellery Channing
I send my younger nephew much love, and to my sister who has a beautiful and courageous spirit, I ask that she always, always feel the embrace of the Divine and of her son.
The following messages which I wrote today is my gift to Omar and to his Mom. It is in flash form, but neither my s/o who is very technical or I could upload it as there were glitches with the flash program. Perhaps, it was meant to be I share my thoughts here again.
Sending another kiss in the wind to my beloved nephew. You were a gift to us while on earth, and you still are a precious gift; you will always remain in a special corner in my heart.
