The Universal Language of Poets and Thinkers - Quotes
Poetry and thoughts from great thinkers speaks the universal language of love, faith, and tolerance. It reminds us if we allow it, of how intriguing being human and living in this planet can be.
I do not for one minute think that what our five senses tells us, is all there is regarding reality. It humbles me at times to think of the potential that creation has given us; the journey of learning, seeing with a new perception, never ends. Life with its roses and thorns is an everyday miracle, and my old buddy Albert Einstein agrees:
" There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle"
We can choose what we focus on, so I choose to often fill my mind and spirit with the beauty of inspiration in art, poetry or music, because it gives me an inner silence. When we have an inner silence we can hear God or nature, and have a greater appreciation for the miracle of life.
Here I share a few thoughts with photos that I found beautiful. It inspires me that several of these poets, such as Rumi, were born hundreds of years ago, and yet their message still apply to the human condition and to the soul.
Enjoy!
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.
Einstein
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
. Max Ehrmann from Desiderata
This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet.
Rumi
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I love you when you bow in your mosque, kneel in your temple, pray in your church. For you and I are sons of one religion, and it is the spirit.

When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself.
