Does atheism means I don't believe the existence of God or I hate God for who He is?

Atheism is that you don't believe in God, not that you hate him. It's a little hard to hate something you don't believe in.

It also means you don't believe in any gods. At all.

I could go further but that's not what you asked.

The idea of a god is true in fact, he is teeming everywhere, in business organization they are called CEO, in government President, in Religion Ministers, etc. They are the one exercising the authority and power attributed to god, thus, the idea of God.

Now if you don't believe god, it may mean you have no faith in the idea of having a god probably because you believe more on equality or brotherhood instead of hierarchy, with god sitting at the top.

You may not believe god but still he may exists in as much as you don't believe your friend who is beside you because he contradicts you and yet he exists just next to you.

Pertaining to the uncaused cause God of Israel, I don't see any reason why He should not exists simply because we cannot convince people that He exists or that He exists just because people believe he exists.

The point is someone claimed to have revealed Himself to us today through the Laws and Writings that He is God but none of us could locate His whereabouts and could explicitly prove the validity of the documents. Until now this case is on trial.

At the end of the day, we simply abide by the faith that theists believe in god and atheists believe in the nonexistence of god each based on the evidences they hold in their hands.

Reiterating my question, it could also be stated as

Does atheism truly do not believe in the existence of the "realm of god" despite people exercising godly authority because God is only a created illusory and  conspired idea to control people?

    or

atheism believe the idea of god exists, but they don't believe the god of israel and all the gods of olympus and flying spaghetti because they hated the attributes associated to them in the first place as they contradict their own belief?

I really find the second option very appealing and I wanted to know if there are atheists out there who simply hate the idea of God but believes he might actually exists. smile

I cant believe u asked such a question at the end of this comment.  Do u not know what an atheist is? They dont believe in Gods. What you have described is MISOTHEISM!  look it up

Atheism could be an advance stage of misotheism. it could be a full blown untreated misotheism. Have you watched the movie God's not dead? I knew of people who hated God for their miseries in life and went on to become an atheist.

No, actually I think people hate being LIED to. And why wouldn't God be responsible for misery as well as good? U cant be one way. Of course there are no Gods to hate, but there are some charlatans and indoctrinated followers who can be despicable

I believe every word you said except for the no Gods to hate. I myself used to doubt God specially on trying moments but if you will truly seek and not give up, you will find Him. That's His promise not mine. If one can only believe.

Atheism means you don't think God is real. Atheists don't believe in the existence of God.

You can still dislike or even hate ideas without believing in the ideas themselves or the concepts that drive them. For instance, you can hate that people beat and discard their gay children because they believe it is what God tells them to do without thinking God is real yourself. You can hate that people follow an idea of God that is hateful and violent without believing their God is real.

As an atheist, I can believe that YOU believe God is real. Since you believe God is real, you are apt to act on what you believe. If the version of God you believe in is one that is decent and kind, I might say, nice God you've got there and be happy for you, but it wouldn't mean I think your God is real, either.

There is so much truth in what you said. And yes I believe in a decent God only. My only problem is His ability to bear direct assault and do nothing to defend Himself which only proves His decency. What a pity.

It means that you dont believe a god exists.

Theres another branch of it that clarifies whether or not you completely deny a god exists, though it's not an intellectually honest position to take.

Hating the idea of God might fall under anti theism, but even that might be a stretch.

You can't hate something you don't believe is real. What you can hate is:

Religious people who pretend to actually want to understand while actually just trying to preach.
Religious people who think their beliefs should apply to people who don't believe the same as them.
Religious people who simply can not enjoy their own personal freedom of religion but feel the need to push it on anyone who will listen.
Well this list could get long. I don't believe in any of the gods. Not even the cool ones like the Norse gods. I don't believe in any form. Atheism would not be someone who believes there may be a god, but they simply don't agree with what people have implied the god is like.
That would fit more under agnostic, or possibly spiritual.

Atheists do not believe God exists therefore there is no reason to hate him. It's his fans they have problems with!

Have you ever heard an atheist say they do not believe in God, but if they did theyd be grateful for their life or grateful for the freewill to reject God? CASE CLOSED.

Exactly Phoenix! I also believe that atheist are good inside and Christ who can see through the heart knew what He's doing when he favored the sinners and tax collectors over the pharisees. I believe when He comes He will convert first the atheists.

Atheists by definition do not believe God exists. You can't hate what you don't believe exists.

If you hate God for who He is, you're just a theist who hates God.

I think I might understand where this question came from, however. Example: My man says he's an "atheist," yet at the same time he says things like: "This is why I don't believe in God. He lets stuff like this happen." I always look at him rather disdainfully and wish to correct him, saying, "You are technically not atheist, then; you apparently believe God exists, you just believe He's horrible. And that's too difficult for you to accept, so you just opt to believe He doesn't exist in a demonstration of denial."

But being the nice girlfriend that I am, I try to not harp on technicalities, so I just settle for the passive aggressive disdainful look of disapproval.

Very true AshtonFirefly. For if only the world would've been a better place to live. On the contrary, the fact that we could not control the world only proves the existence of controlling factors beyond our control. And who doesn't hate it. Lol! Tnx.

Hi starting off i don't think you are atheist as an atheist is a person who does not believe in the great one or its existence. I am sure as you are not an atheist as you are not sure to believe it or not.

An atheist is the son the great lord who has been bought up believing the science or logical facts of life other than believing in the supernatural incidents or happenings around us whether they find a scientific logic about the occurrence of any supernatural action or incident.

On the other hand a person who trust and believes in god may fall for an understanding as god is not helping him/her or is not understanding the pain or problem that one is going through. The pain in a person or the conditions the individual has gone through may make them feel an immoral feelings towards the lord as he/she was not helped when needed and they feel hate towards the divine power. If they were an atheist they would have believed them in the first place. The individual believes in their existence but hates it as they were not helped when they wanted a great of help.

Bdn, you ask this question from the position of having Christian beliefs, so your mind is not totally open to the answers you receive from "non-believers."
The phrase, "believe in" is almost exclusively used from a Christian perspective.  I don't know of any other religion where they use it.  I don't like to use it, personally.  Instead, I prefer to say, "I don't accept the existence of a supernatural being, or entity, that somehow created me and the world around and who also watches my every move, every thought, every intention."
Even more so do I reject the notion of that same entity inflicting punishment on me for having in some way contravened obscure laws and codes of conduct applied to ancient civilisations; some not-so-civilised I might add!
The rules, laws, codes, together with all penalties and punishments have been and are applied by humans....to be inflicted upon other humans.  Some for good, community-minded purpose; many for the simple ulterior motive of control and subjugation.
Many persons (by no means all), involved with the latter process go by the designation "Christian."
Can you wonder why I am a-theist, particularly not Christian?
