   What did the Bible mean when it says Jesus died for all our sins?
   
   Did he die only for original sin, just a few people's sins, only the people at the moment in time, or everyone's sin throughout space/time?

   It actually does not say that he did for our sins... it says that he died for "the remission of sin." This passage has been misconstrued for way too long. In Judaism, there is a concept of martyrdom. It is not encouraged as it is in extreme fundamental Islam, but it something that is acceptable in times of "apostasy." Apostasy means, "falling toward separation from God." In Judaism, the definition of sin is "separation from God." Martyrdom is done in such times when the there is a great threat to society falling away from God... to encourage people to hang on to their beliefs no matter what... and prevent the total destruction of humankind's path to God... Jesus accepted the role of martyr to prevent such apostasy, when the Roman's were hell bent on wiping out the religion of God.

   There's a scripture passage that tells us "And behold, this is the whole meaning of the law, every whit pointing to that great and last sacrifice; and that great and last sacrifice will be the Son of God, yea, infinite and eternal." 
   
   The law mentioned is the Mosaic Law or the Law of Moses. Everything about the law foreshadowed that marvelous sacrifice. That sacrifice is Infinite and Eternal. There are no limitations on that sacrifice. There is no life that it cannot reach, no heart that it cannot touch.
   
   He has set conditions though, and the first is that we come to him with 'a broken heart and a contrite spirit'.  If we come to him and seek him with a desire to accept his will in our lives he can start the healing process in us. In order to continue that healing process we must continue to accept his will.
   
   In this manner the Sacrifice that Jesus made for us is for each and all; covering all sins, at all times, and in all places.

   if you ever have done bad things...and don't worry you can justify you actions but as soon as you do bad things you will know it...there is no way for you to be able to enter Heaven on you own credits...the wages of sin is death but the gift of is eternal life through Jesus Christ...the ultimate sacrifice had to be made to give a chance...evil men (all of us) are bound to end up in hell...with out His death on the cross, we all would have had no chance...the most spiritual man today still sins everyday...

   Daniel it means that as Jesus died, the sins of all mankind past present and future were heaped upon Him as man's perfect sin sacrifice.

   Jesus Died for all our sins because He loved us and to fulfill the promises . According to the Bible in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 " For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scripture. and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures".
    
                 in this Verses, Four vital truths are asserted here,
   
   1. that Jesus Christ died for our sins - This is a substitutionary and propitiatary sacrifice.
   
   2. He was buried - This evidences the reality and totality of his death.
   
   3. He rose again- The perfect tense stresses abiding results , He was raised in the past and remains alive now.
   
   4. According to the scriptures - The facts of the gospel are not only important historically, but prophetically as well. They occurred as has been predicted

   Jesus died so the power of sin would not reign over us.
   Acts 10:43   To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
   remission:
   1) release from bondage or imprisonment
   2) forgiveness or pardon, of sins (letting them go as if they had never been committed), remission of the penalty
   
   Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death
   
   This is a two fold word meaning past sins are forgiven and the slate is wiped clean.
   and jesus died to destroy the power of sin over us. After jesus died his people were given the power to say no to sin. Our bondage or slavery to sin was ended and we can say no to sin before it happens.
   
   As far as daily sinning goes
   1 John 1:9   If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
   
   We need to keep a contrite heart before God and earnestly desire our sins to be forgiven, realizing our pre-saved sins are gone but the ones we don`t know about or do need to be confessed to GOD not a catholic priest, so God will forget those too.
