I certainly think there is evidence that there is more to our lives than the physical, yes. Near Death Experiences for instance and kids remembering past lives. See:

Perhaps.....There was a study that hooked up dying patients to a bed scale, for the purpose of seeing if a person's soul had any actual weight to it.   Their weight was monitored from the short time before death and their actual passing.  After the patient passed, and within usually 30 minutes time, the patient's weight was reduced by about 1/4 - 1/2 ounce.  Not much, but a significant finding.  Look it up online and see if you can find the full research project on it.

You have to define your understanding of what a Soul is.  It is a term to describe the persona you use while animated but it is not a physical substance.

There are esoteric teachings where the soul is called the Astral Body.  The Astral Body refers to your thoughts and emotions.  This term Astral Body is derived from the word Aster which is Greek for star.  Your thoughts and emotions are determined by the influence of the stars and planets.  They determine your personality, your psychological traits.  This is the link between the stars and your psyche.

If you've been confused about the terms Soul and Spirit which many are,  think of the spirit as that eternal and uncorruptable part of your essence, and the Soul or your Astral Body as the clothes around your essence while experiencing human life.

M'Lady, your mind is the answer.  "If you think you exist", therefore if you think, you have a soul.  Your mind is the connection between your brain (your body) and your soul.  The soul is a blank when we are born and is nurtured and developed throughout life according to our thoughts and emotions (how we interact with the others around us).

The way we act with those around us, our behaviour in divers situations towards the members of our family, friends, acquaintances, companions at work or at play depends on our up-bringing and character formation.  If we were brought up to be good and honest citizens that's how we react towards others.

In the end therefore your soul would be the mirror of your life, episode by episode.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who was the kindest one of all :-)

Soul is the essence of being.  You are a being-- the evidence is overwhelming.

As the soul by its very definition cannot be defined within the material world, it is up to our conscience, our metaphysical selves, to define it.

In the material world, we CAN look for its "footprints": imagination, love, our desire to give, unexplainable perceptions, and the way we relate to certain people and events.

The word "soul" is vocabulary, a symbol.  And it is limited as such.  I prefer to define it as something that feels like it can go far beyond self.  It's a notion that seems to have no beginning and no end; and is not tied exclusively to any individual.  If you have ever experienced that sensation, there is some of YOUR evidence.

    Best wishes in your soul-searching!
