I'm watching this special on ABC called Earth 2100, It's very interesting, the Bible has been speaking of these things for centuries and we're are just now figuring it out?
A Rebellious Nation Isaiah's vision
2 Hear, O heavens! Listen, O earth!
For the LORD has spoken:
"I reared children and brought them up,
but they have rebelled against me.
3 The ox knows his master,
the donkey his owner's manger,
but Israel does not know,
my people do not understand."
4 Ah, sinful nation,
a people loaded with guilt,
a brood of evildoers,
children given to corruption!
They have forsaken the LORD;
they have spurned the Holy One of Israel
and turned their backs on him.
5 Why should you be beaten anymore?
Why do you persist in rebellion?
Your whole head is injured,
your whole heart afflicted.
6 From the sole of your foot to the top of your head
there is no soundness—
only wounds and welts
and open sores,
not cleansed or bandaged
or soothed with oil.
7 Your country is desolate,
your cities burned with fire;
your fields are being stripped by foreigners
right before you,
laid waste as when overthrown by strangers.
8 The Daughter of Zion is left
like a shelter in a vineyard,
like a hut in a field of melons,
like a city under siege.
9 Unless the LORD Almighty
had left us some survivors,
we would have become like Sodom,
we would have been like Gomorrah.
10 Hear the word of the LORD,
you rulers of Sodom;
listen to the law of our God,
you people of Gomorrah!
11 "The multitude of your sacrifices—
what are they to me?" says the LORD.
"I have more than enough of burnt offerings,
of rams and the fat of fattened animals;
I have no pleasure
in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.
12 When you come to appear before me,
who has asked this of you,
this trampling of my courts?
13 Stop bringing meaningless offerings!
Your incense is detestable to me.
New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations—
I cannot bear your evil assemblies.
14 Your New Moon festivals and your appointed feasts
my soul hates.
They have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.
15 When you spread out your hands in prayer,
I will hide my eyes from you;
even if you offer many prayers,
I will not listen.
Your hands are full of blood;
16 wash and make yourselves clean.
Take your evil deeds
out of my sight!
Stop doing wrong,
17 learn to do right!
Seek justice,
encourage the oppressed. [a]
Defend the cause of the fatherless,
plead the case of the widow.
18 "Come now, let us reason together,"
says the LORD.
"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the best from the land;
20 but if you resist and rebel,
you will be devoured by the sword."
For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
21 See how the faithful city
has become a harlot!
She once was full of justice;
righteousness used to dwell in her—
but now murderers!
22 Your silver has become dross,
your choice wine is diluted with water.
23 Your rulers are rebels,
companions of thieves;
they all love bribes
and chase after gifts.
They do not defend the cause of the fatherless;
the widow's case does not come before them.
24 Therefore the Lord, the LORD Almighty,
the Mighty One of Israel, declares:
"Ah, I will get relief from my foes
and avenge myself on my enemies.
25 I will turn my hand against you;
I will thoroughly purge away your dross
and remove all your impurities.
26 I will restore your judges as in days of old,
your counselors as at the beginning.
Afterward you will be called
the City of Righteousness,
the Faithful City."
27 Zion will be redeemed with justice,
her penitent ones with righteousness.
28 But rebels and sinners will both be broken,
and those who forsake the LORD will perish.
29 "You will be ashamed because of the sacred oaks
in which you have delighted;
you will be disgraced because of the gardens
that you have chosen.
30 You will be like an oak with fading leaves,
like a garden without water.
31 The mighty man will become tinder
and his work a spark;
both will burn together,
with no one to quench the fire."
It's funny how we have known about the end for so long and have done next to nothing to fix/stop it(environmently or morally). We are quickly letting our morals slip,(anything goes!). We've turn our back on our Creator and believe we ourselves are God. Instead of heeding the warnings, listening to the signs we are quick to openly mock them, but not for long. We've beckoned it, We've tempted it, We've discredited it. And now the end is near. "It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine." Do you?
Rejoice.
I feel quite comfortable with the idea that I can think for myself, influenced, of course, by many others but not beholden to any. And in particular, able to see the 'scriptures' for what they are - ancient anthologies of stories, legends, poems and history compiled by men.
Prophesy always works best retrospectively with selective interpretation. It's just a game. Unless you can show me the passage in the Bible that says: In 2009, North Korea will pose a nuclear threat exacerbated by its unstable Leader, while Pakistan, a country around half a century old will have trouble in the North... No?
Oh yes, and then there's America, much loved by the prophet Jeremiah. Seriously, it's time to move on.
the bible does say all these things. And even more. But because its prophecy it is conveyed using allegories and symbols. For instance - a jet could be a flying chariot. Why? Simple, cause jets didnt exist then. Allegories, my friend. That's how prophecy works. Nothing so literal.
Nothing so literal because literal = testable. And that would never do, would it? Prophesy 'works' because people with an agenda can cite it to help make their case, even while others can cite the same passages to make a different case. The sad thing is, many people soak it all up like sponges.
Prophecy is high language, spoken from men attaining higher frequencies. You might hit a brick wall if you try to figure it out with literal reasoning.
It was pretty smart of your men to 'attain higher frequencies' so long before anyone used that kind of language!
A human can tap into this higher frequency and get insights into the future.
Matthew 25:13
"keep on the watch, therefore, because YOU know neither the day nor the hour."
You have something to say, or are you happy to let Matthew speak for you?
Personally, I don’t doubt what is promised in the bible, and knowing history will inevitably repeat itself I thought Matthew was a clear simple reminder in telling ALL that prophecy is not that obvious.
If praying helped the Christians would have fixed this problem by now. No?
I (God) have spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets. (Hosea 12:10 KJV) The above is the rule, call it principle of prophecy. Prophecy is somewhat like a riddle to decipher, or puzzle to solve. You need to key into that frequency to understand it. Either you got it, or you don't. There're no short-cuts.
And you've got it, I suppose? And when others may disagree about the meaning (or lack of it) of a particular passage, what are they getting wrong? Maybe 'keying in' to the wrong 'frequency'?
Whether I've got it or not is simply immaterial to the subject. And yes, if you get it wrong, then you didn't key in right. Either you have it or you don't. No two ways about it.
Or it is just mysticism with no relevance to the real world.

Luke 19:27 Jesus said, "But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence." Is it OK for Christians to kill non-believers? Or is it only a justified act in his presence?

Whenever an Islamic terrorist event occurs, our Western politicos rally around to reasure us that Islam is a peaceful religion. Is this accurate?I'm sure any Al Quaeda member will be able to justify their actions by quoting a few passages of the quran. If as Westerners we were to read the same...

Hi everyone, I believe in keeping the faith in God's holy word. All of the terrible things taking place in the world today is true prophecy of what is written in the bible. To all of the true and humble servants of God. Why must we take a stand for righteousness?

Where in the Bible does it say that the Jews are God's "chosen people"?Isaiah 19:25 says Egypt is God's people and Israel is His inheritance? Where in the Bible does it say that the Jews are God's "chosen people"?
