Christmas Day Origin And Doubting Thomas - Was Jesus Really Born On December 25?
No one knows the exact date. We just picked one and celebrated it. It was better to celebrate the birth of the Messiah on Dec. 25 than to do what the druids and other pagans used to do on that day with their tree of fire celebrations and other hideous rituals. We basically hijacked the day from them and turned a celebration of something bad and fearsome into a celebration of something good and wholesome.
