To be cut off from the presence of God, and to have a mark placed upon him for those that might attempt to kill him would know not to do so because the Lord was punishing him. There is alot of speculation on other things but these are the only sure things I can find. great question.
White Christians told me that Cain was the black man and that his curse was his black skin.
White Christians who lovingly practice "Caucasianity" otherwise called white supremacy used this belief to hang, castrate and burn black men among other things.
Likewise this scripture was used to denigrate, rape and otherwise abuse the black woman.
It was widely used to foster the belief that blacks were supposed to be abused and abased.
