Should the Roman Catholic Church change its current position of forbidding the use of contraception?

A bunch of, chaste spinsters and bachelors should play no part in determining how couples conduct their legal sexual activities.

This is a typical Religious act where "Church" controls what people should do. The reality of it is all humans are sinners including the Pope and his cohorts of Evil, so contraception is a ploy. If man wants to please God, if it were possible, then there would be no church or religions. Shows how many are deceived by Religion.

Believing in Jesus Christ is the answer to these stupid religions. Jesus Christ is the only person ever to please God, and did it for the world, so stop rejecting his Completed works and get out the Catholic Institution..

of course they should . common sense says that contraception is a practical way to deal with unwanted pregnancy . the problem is that the catholic church wants it's followers to be under their control and since sex is sooooo bad , contraception is also bad.

Wow!  The responses to this question were so hateful, I just had to add a bit of clarity.   The church teaches that sex is a wonderful, holy thing in marriage, but that sex outside of marriage and with contraception destroys goes against God's design for sex and is ultimately hurtful for us.

While the church does rightfully forbid the use of contraception, it is not because sex is bad or because she wants her members to have lots and lots of children.   Catholics are encouraged to use Natural Family planning (which has a 99% effectiveness rate when used correctly) to to space or avoid having children should a serious reason arise, to be personally and prayfully decided on by the couple.

if you would like more information about the Catholic church's position on any topic, please feel free to send me a question.  I also have several hubs on Natural family planning and the problems with contraception if you would like more information :-)
