What is the best way for a church to decide what missionaries?
Our church wants to give our time, energy, and prayers, along with money, to a few missionaries. Instead of having a bunch of missionaries, we want somewhere around three. How do we decide what missionaries to support without dividing up and taking sides over certain missionaries?
You could always pray to know which missionaries to send?
First of all, I think you should plan a meeting of a few key individuals in your church who have some background or knowledge of missionaries.
Second, when you meet have an agenda and purpose.
Brainstorm at the meeting - having the participants to suggest a couple to support.
Lastly, vote on the three you want to support.
Choose the missionaries that line up with your beliefs and values. For example, if your heart is that all should have 'water', find a missionarie that will deliver water to the needy. If you believe that children should not go hungry - then support a missionarie that believes in feeding the hungry children. You get it, the choosing comes out of your and your congregation's heart. Thanks for the question - definitely worth discussing.
