The event called the Big Bang was not the beginning. Here is why. To every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The Big Bang was a reaction, which begs the question, What was the action which preceded it. Second:  An object in motion tends to remain in motion, and an object at rest tends to remain at rest. The odds that the universe has always been in motion are greater than the odds that it has ever been at rest.

You have a great point here your thoughts point to the cyclic model in which the end of one universe becomes the start of the next one.

How do I explain the origins of the Universe? I actually have no reason to explain the origins of the Universe, nor do I have a need. I am not one who has to ask the question, which apparently you do. That means, you have to learn more and I would suggest you do so. What proof? If you're looking for a "WHY", then you're not looking for proof, you are looking for a reason. Proof that the Universe exists, has already been proven to exist. The origins of the Universe is actually a question that never needs to be answered. Because, it's actually quite irrelevant to the individual themselves. You're more than welcome to read the hub I've already written about Life Question and Answers of said questions. If that doesn't satisfy your need for answer, then I would first say, (a) get over yourself and (b) seek out the knowledge you actually need, not what other people have forced upon you to understand.

Einstein calculated, Energy = mass x speed of light squared. This means there's a direct correlation between energy and matter. The universe as we know is full of matter and if we mean universe, we literally mean the creation, the cosmos. Before the creation, no matter yet exists, only energy. A particular amount of matter or mass were manufactured equal to dividing a vast amount of Energy to the square of the speed of light. This process cannot be proven because no human can create a matter using energy ( not even one hair strand gray or black). To do that you will be needing a factory whose features are beyond imagination. However, because of the advances in technology, mankind is able to demonstrate that indeed, matter can be returned back to its original state, that is, energy, via nuclear processess (burning a firewood is a practical example). Another marvel in science, essential to the creation of matter ( not only universe) is the intent to create. That is, you need to inject the information (code, language, design) into the matter, itself, that you're creating for them to become the way you want them to become. Thus, the technology of Cloning, Plastics, and all the man-made products. This process , however, utilised the material that had already been there, created. The point is, a creation demands a creator (conscious being with the will and intent to create). Also, in science, there are some things called irreversible process. This is not because some processess can not be reversed but because humans are not capable of doing such processess (human limitation). If you want to prove the origin of universe, you need to revert back all the matters, including me and you, into energy and then appoint someone (conscious being, of course) who is not matter (energy or light, maybe) and able to do reverse process such as energy converting into matter. This thing is not unimaginable since as we know, energy and matter have same basic properties, building blocks, such as electron, proton, neutron, quarks, blah! blah!. These things are common to both, meaning they can be interchanged anytime. If only, I am a superhuman I will demonstrate how to do this to you but unfortunately, I am not. However, because you were granted the mind to think of all these things, unlike the rest of the cosmos, then maybe someday things will turn out the way they were intended to be. You can attribute these things to Faith and Hope. Be sure to have lots of them... smile

Nobody could explain the origin of the universe because we admit that the universe is infinite. The Big Bang was one of the  states of the universe. The Big Bang was just the beginning of a state of the universe. We aren't able to understand the infinity of the universe because,in our world, everything is born, lives and dies. The infinity of the universe is incomprehensible to us.We cannot imagine something without a beginning and an end.
