After the great deluge, the ocean submerged Dwaraka, the abode of Yadavas. Krishna retreaded to a thick jungle and he was just lying down. His thumb in the feet resembled a bird or peacock. A hunter mistook it to be a bird shot an arrow and Krishna left his physical body to His Divine abode Vaikunta since all the tasks he has assumed were finished successfully!
However, the beginning of this story is from Ramayana kaal... In Ramayana when Lord Ram killed Baali from behind a tree. At that time Lord Ram has given the words to Baali that the way I killed you it will be reciprocated to me in my next incarnation. Because I have not fight with you face to face & it’s not the Yudha neeti. That Baali was the hunter in Krishna Kaal (Mahabharata kaal).
