    What is extraordinary about Patmos?

Patmos is where Revelations was written for the Bible.  Glastonbury is, coincidently or not, twinned with Patmos.  Why so special and why the connection?  What is extraordinary about Patmos?

To the best of my knowledge (Thinking),  Patmos was to the Romans  what Guantanamo Bay is to the U,S. ...   Not really but kinda.

Political prisoners who The Roman Magistrate didn't really know what to do with.

      I Think?

Patmos is a Greek Island and the source of Christian pilgrimages. John of Patmos, the author of the book of Revelations was said to have received visions from God about things to come and why they would occur.Patmos was where John the Apostle was imprisoned by the Romans and where he wrote of the heavenly visions recorded in the Christian Bible.
