There is only one Author of the Bible- the "Good" Lord Jesus Christ (John 5:39-40, 46-47; Luke 24:25-27, 44)! Yet, there are at least 40 different human writers who have collectively written the entire 66 canonical-authoritative-authorized-official books of the entire Bible, for and in behalf of the Lord Jesus Christ, upon His directives.
It's a difficult question to answer because the book has been copied and translated by hand for centuries. Each and every copy was then at the mercy of whoever was replicating and/or translating it. This could, and did, lead way for any number of alterations to the original text. My guess is, if we ever got our hands on the original manuscript, we would all be shocked by how different it is.
