    What does the expression "bump in the rug" mean?

    I have never heard of bump in the rug before although there is an expression that I am use to that is  "bump in the road" which basically means that there is or was a small distraction in your path that you have to get over in order to keep going on. I hope this helps a little......keep hubbing

      Thank you for helping remember that one. Perhaps bump in the rug has to do with an old house that has become warped by the elements. (no pun intended)
