Does the Soul exist?
If yes, then what is its work and where does it stay in our body? And if the answer is No, then it would be a big argument on religious basis! I am not against any religious belief. I just want the answer which is tinkering my mind.
Yes Soul exists and stays in every part of your body. Soul is invisible same as God so you may not be able to view Soul.
Thanks mark. For sharing you belief to us.
Welcome Fahad
but why are you asking such kind of questions ?
Sorry mark, if i ask something wrong. Actually a frienf of mine dont believe in Soul and always told me that think about it scientifically for a while. And if you still believe then give me some strong evidence from your side. Thats why.
The soul is the complete person; it is the combination of the body, the mind, and the spirit. The spirit is the breath of life that comes from God. When the spirit leaves the body, the body dies and the mind stops thinking.
The body can be kept alive with artificial life support, but without the mind and the spirit the soul dies.
I respect your belief farasucan, but i want the evidence. So that i can prove the existence of soul to them who didn't believe in it.
Your mind will still tinker after I give you my viewpoint. That which is mystical is beyond mind, and has to be experienced. God-men or Spiritual Masters only point the way. They also help one considerably, but the experience has to be personal and inward. They are like Lantern Carriers, they carry a lamp and point the way.
I have sat at the feet of one such man for 33 years, and I will give you my version of what he says. The Soul is the divine spark that gives life to the body. Without it, the body cannot manifest or glorify its inherent nature or God. It also cannot live. The Soul is that crucial.
The Heart is a Spiritual Centre in the middle of the Chest, and the Soul sits inside the Heart. They are like Deity and Shrine. The Soul needs the body for manifestation of the Divine play, the body needs the Soul for Self-discovery or God-realisation.
Now it may be better for your question to be: How can I best please the Soul? Then I would say prayer, meditation and a life of soulful offering to humanity. Serve, serve, serve ... service expands the Heart and will make you receptive to the descent of the Higher Forces. Offer Gratitude. Of course Faith in Something Higher is paramount.
Finally, I do not know that it is wise to argue the Spiritual Life, as the answer is inside you. One have to pray or meditate. It is an inner experience and is by nature both beyond and above the mind. As such, mental analysis is useless. Dive deep within. Om Shanti!
Thanks manatita for giving your valuable time and appropriate point of view.
Thanks Fahad, I appreciate this.
Note: What God-men do is not prove, but demonstrate the power, e.g., miracles. The mind may believe temporarily, but as in the case of Christ and some others, can and do turn against them. Hari Om!
Your thoughts and belief are peaceful and really appreciable. But there are some people who blindly follow the strange rituals and made other people against that belief. Every culture, religion, everything are to create peace. We should know that.
There is absolutely no evidence of a soul or spirit or anything as such. These are indoctrinated suggestions that were created by our ancient ancestors, who were perplexed by the phenomenon of death. This was the way that they explained where the person's consciousness went after metabolism ceased.
Modern Science has not detected the existence of anything that would prove this claim.
Now i got an answer from science side. Thanks getitrite..
Okay. Thanks everyone for stopping by. Again i'm not against any religious belief, but being a science student, i'm a kind of reasonable type.
The question of the existence or non-existence of Soul arises in my mind when i read about the effects of drugs on human body. There are several type of drugs available which can even alter your emotions, way of thinking, and many other things. So, if a chemical reaction can changes everything including emotions, then where is the soul? I mean, what is the role of Soul in our body when every phenomena is a chemical reaction. But the belief of several people around the world in Soul opposes me to deny their existence. I hope i'll find out soon.

Do you believe in the existence of a soul? Many people believe that the soul is responsible for one’s individuality or “self”, and that the soul can leave the body and keep having thoughts, feelings, and personality after death. But if the soul is responsible for what we think of as “self”,...

The soul, by definition, is meta-physical and is thought that the soul would be connected to the brain, not within the brain. It used to be thought that the soul resided in your heart - but getting a heart transplant doesn't make you into a different person. So - if some time in the future -...

I was about to reply to rickylidea's forum "How Did You Become an Atheist?" when it dawned on me that I might not qualify as a bona fide atheist. Some of you may remember from my previous hubs that I hesitate to apply a label to what I do and do not believe. Still, there...
