Oh, I think most individuals - nearly 100% - will achieve their own, personal definition of enlightenment.  Others would achieve it if their definition was not to know everything.

The action or state of attaining or having attained spiritual knowledge or insight, in particular (in Buddhism) that awareness which frees a person from the cycle of rebirth.

            No, i don't think so

Well, I didn't think much of it either.  But the alternative was "To be enlightened", which begs the question in the worst way.

    NOUN

the action or state of attaining or having attained spiritual knowledge or insight, in particular (in Buddhism) that awareness which frees a person from the cycle of rebirth.

As "spiritual knowledge" is whatever is defined by each individual, it seems unlikely the species will ever achieve it.  Even if one group managed to stamp out all the rest, "converting" the entire world to it's belief system, it still would not be "knowledge".

You certainly can't!  Except in very special circumstances; the knowledge of atomic power WAS imposed on the world at one point...

I would like to correct you on that point. The knowledge of Atomic Power was
not imposed.Only the consequences of atomic power were exposed. The science behind it was not.

Perhaps I should have said that the knowledge that someone had harnessed that power, could release it at will, was imposed.  The US was certainly not the only people working to develop it.

But like atomic power, it generally takes a poke in the nose to force knowledge on someone that doesn't want it.  Simply explaining, or even showing is often not enough.

I agree, I am often guilty of imposing knowledge on others.I have learned my lessons.
