Who are you, really? Do you know?
Many people and I would say the majority, believe that they are John/Karen born at a certain date, has a certain age, they think that their body is who they are and all the many thoughts that come with it, but are we really any of these things?
1 Your name is just a bunch of letters making sounds that your parents gave you at your bith, maybe even a few days after you were born. So surely "it" cannot be you, because before you came out of your mothers womb, in the 5th, 6th months you already were and yet you had no name.
2 The strongest identification comes from believing without ever questionning that we are our body, this is a great mistake
when you were a few months you were(existed) but you did not locate yourself anywhere only as the years passed with the constant reminder from your parents, from society did you come to accept that lie. They would first keep on calling you using the name they have chosen for you, then for example when you hurt your leg or arm they would say something like this: oh1 john is hurting, then it became natural to you " i am John and John is this body". If you really are the body then tell me if your leg gets cut off are you less yourself, no you are still you, no matter what happens to your body. Over the years your body has completely changed its whole structure from cells to bones skin etc nothing is the same now as it were maybe last year, but you are still the same one. So who are you really?
I agree with you that our existing is questionable being mortals; we have been bestowed life by the Immortal the Creator-God Allah YHWH. We don't know where exactly we reside in our body; some say in our brain but if it was possible to show us our brain, we won't recognize it.
Please see a thread started by me sometimes ago:
"Do you exist? Prove it, please"
The theme of my thread was almost similiar.
Just to highlight the point of our friend kmacox with thanks.
[16:78] And to Allah belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth; and the matter of the Hour is but as the twinkling of an eye, nay, it is nearer still. Surely, Allah has power over all things.
[16:79] And Allah brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers while you knew nothing, and gave you ears and eyes and hearts, that you might be grateful.
[16:80] Do they not see the birds held under subjection in the vault of heaven? None keeps them back save Allah. Verily, in that are Signs for a people who believe.

Love peace free. Your consciousness have to grasp this concept as we are created in the image of GOD. God have to reveal this to you. It will be done with one person at a time. Be love be peace be free.
sorry I was not asking this question to myself, I know who I am, I am experiencing my true identity now. I was just trying to make a topic of conversation and make other reader challenge their own beliefs about themselves.
Thank you very much though for reading and taking time to answer.
[76:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.
[76:2] There has certainly come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing spoken of.
[76:3] We have created man from a mingled sperm-drop that We might try him; so We made him hearing, seeing.
[76:4] We have shown him the Way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful.

Who gives a flying f#*#*. U know what I am saying. You are all the same people. Who cares what your beliefs are.
Everyone has there own beliefs and I dont believe in trying to make people believe in yours so leave them alone!!!!!!!
I am not trying to force my beliefs on anyone, it is a simple question and probably the most important one. As long as we live in the illusion of being this body this name then we are living a lie a dead life. no one has forced you to do anything posting a comment or other.
thank you for your input
Our existing is questionable being mortals; we have been bestowed life by the Immortal the Creator-God Allah YHWH. That is our identification.
We live in the brain. That is who we are. Stick your head in an MRI scanner and you can see yourself tick. Simple really.

If Christianity really is the truth, shouldn't scrutiny demonstrate its truth? All over the place in America, we see believers responding with outrage and defiance when Christian beliefs are challenged or questioned. If the beliefs of Christianity are, in fact, the truth - the only truth, then...

To whom it may concern, I am a 31 yeard old male residing in Toronto, Canada. The reason I am writing this is because I feel like my life is going nowhere but downhill. Everyone I have ever known in this short and miserable life which Allah calls a blessing, and which I call a CURSE,...

How did you decide upon and verify your own beliefs? As an atheist who constantly strives to learn and grow in a culture that is largely religious, I'm constantly engaging with theists of many types. Often, they provide philosophical arguments for the existence of God, but I've never met one...

I saw this movie in a hub, I found a link to it on YouTube and I really would like opinions on it. It is a full length movie and you need to watch it all, it has three main parts the first of which is on religion. Christians may have trouble with the first section, deep breaths... but please watch...

Since the very word 'Christian' was first used in Antioch in the early Church days to describe the apostles and early disciples who's very life and character was a clone-reflection of Christ's character - in meekness, gentleness, non-discriminatory, and compassionate. They saw these virtues in them...
