I was in Bible Study and we were talkng about Hell. The leader mentioned this but did not go in depth. They said this is not taught much because it can confuse people. If it's part of the Bible, Why don't most churches teach about this?
This is dantes inferno.. a book, it is not bible.
If there were to be a doctrine about levels in hell it would have been taught openly.
No levels in hell in OT
none in the NT
Hell is synonymous with the garbage dump of gehenna, a place where garbage is utterly consumed. One level.. consummation.
I also believe that this belief is flesh oriented. Flesh would like to see all wicked people get "their just deserts" its kinda like vengeance.
That's it, Dante's Inferno. It's very interesting, but not Biblical. He has a very specific outline of the different rings, and if you buy the book there will be a diagram. It's divided up into different levels for different types of people and according to their offenses on earth.
Thanks KK...the book sounds ineresting. I think I will check it out. God bless you.

I have noticed that many atheists and anti-Christians (as can be seen from the most active forums on Hubpages), have a huge distaste for Christianity primarily because of the contradiction between there being a loving God and an eternal hell-fire for those who do not do what he wants. From my study...

What are the most annoying responses Christians give to questions atheists ask?I'm a christian and I think that it would be helpful in ministry, if Christians new a bit more about how atheists felt about a Christian's rebuttal

Dante's Divine Comedy is a classic. The novel metaphorically describes humanity's ultimate descendence to his/her lowest point (inferno) and conversely, humanity's ascendence to his/her highest point (paradiso). Dante was a wealthy Tuscan whose property was ultimately confiscated by the...

According to received Church wisdom, all of humanity deserves to be sent to hell? Why? What have we as individuals done that's so wrong that eternity of torture or annihilation is the reward?I'm sure the average Hubber here has never murdered a child, sold crack to street kids, committed genocide,...
