Read what I said on my first forum post if you haven't. Please, let's try to actually ask/answer questions about the Bible/Christianity/God this time. Less debates about whether God is real or not (I already have about a thousand of those going on in my other webpages).

First question (of mine): I love introducing people to the things that the Bible says that contradict modern opinion. Who is this? (I'll give the answer after 10 people have replied)

This is weird. You started a new thread because there were people who don't like being evangelized at? The bible is full of all sorts of nonsense that contradicts reality - modern or otherwise. wink

It's supposed to be a thread for Christians. duh. Did you not read the forum-starter for "Christianity Questions" (as in, the first one)?

It's Lucifer the Adversary. There Jonathon. STOP HOUNDING ME! mad
Based on descriptions in Genesis, Ezekiel, Psalms, and Isaiah.

DoubleScorpionposted 12 years agoin reply to this

Lucifer is only mentioned twice in the Bible. And it means Light-bringer not adversary
Satan/Devil is the word that means adversary/accuser

        1. Jakob Dailes profile image59
Jakob Dailesposted 12 years agoin reply to this

Yes, but Lucifer is Satan. Lucifer is refered to in the Bible as an angel who led a revolt in Heaven and was expelled and Satan is also. Thus, they must be the same person.

If you wanted less debate on whether or not the god you pay homage to is real, then you should have picked a different forum to post your posts on.

HP is a writers site. The forums are public domain for members. This IS NOT a Christian or religious site, and there is nothing about HP that is religious, except for the fact that it has topics of religious types, which can be discussed, argued, debating or exchanged.

If you don't like that other people challenge your belief and you feel the need to tell people not to debate? Then, apparently you don't quite understand what a "public" forum is?

    1. Jakob Dailes profile image59
Jakob Dailesposted 12 years agoin reply to this

THE FORUM TOPIC FOR THIS AND THE PREVIOUS FORUM TOPIC WAS QUESTIONS ABOUT CHRISTIANITY. What do you not understand about that? One of the reasons you can report someone is not sticking to the topic. So obviously, that kinda means you're supposed to talk about the topic. Not religious topics in general. For that, how about you go to a forum where the topic IS debating God's existence. I already have debates going on on other websites (as I said above), so I wanted to do a forum post FOR CHRISTIANS WITH QUESTIONS. I'm very sorry if apparently you can't read.

All right. I have a question for you. As the bible is full of contradictory nonsense that does not gel with the facts we have about the world - how do you reconcile what we now know about the earth with the silly stories in the bible?

Genuinely interested. Do you reject evolution for example? As that clearly does not need a god involved. How do you reconcile a natural process with creation?

        1. Jakob Dailes profile image59
Jakob Dailesposted 12 years agoin reply to this

I believe evoluton is real. That doesn't mean I believe we came from monkeys though.

          1. Evolution Guy profile image60
Evolution Guyposted 12 years agoin reply to this

OK - so you don't understand evolution then. Evolution doesn't say we came from monkeys, it says we are related to them and came from a joint ancestor.

How does this fit with creation by a god exactly?

            1. Jakob Dailes profile image59
Jakob Dailesposted 12 years agoin reply to this

God created all species. Evolution gave them different colours and sizes. This is how wolves became dogs. That is the sort of evolution that can be proven. However, unless you can prove that humans and monkeys came from a common ancestor, I cannot simply believe what the "scientists" say. Please, if we are going to bring God into this, can it not be debating his existence (which like I said, I'm doing on about a thousand other websites).

              1. Evolution Guy profile image60
Evolution Guyposted 12 years agoin reply to this

So - you do reject evolution then. OK. I just wanted to know how you reconciled the proof we have that humans evolved with your creator god. Simple. You reject science. OK - now I know. Yes - I can prove we came from a common ancestor. DNA. I know you are debating the existence of god on about a thousand other websites. Good for you. lol

Jakob Dailesposted 12 years agoin reply to this

If ur not going to be specific and tell me how we know all that, then how am I supposed to believe you. If anything, DNA stumps scientists. I watched a documentary on evolution, creation, and ID sciences, and scientists were ADMITTING that DNA stumps them as to how it could've simply generated out of nowhere. If you disagree, then please explain yourself. I'd love to embrace any proof you have as long as it makes sense and can be explained (by you).

Dear me. You think this is an appropriate venue to explain teh intricacies of biological evolution when you have already stated that you know nothing about it and think it says we come from monkeys? lol

You saw some LOLOL cristian liars for jesus pretending to be scientists and that was enough for you? lol

ID science? What is that? lol lol

Yes, I know. You don't have to shout?
As you can see from my post above, I didn't misunderstand. I wonder what made YOU think I did?
Are you learning impaired? Sorry, had to ask. YOUR topic- Christianity? "Theological Discussion" is the topic. It's fairly broad based, just because YOU want to only talk about ONE train of thought, shows you lack the understanding of how broad based your topic actually is to begin with. What a shame. hmm
However, I also reserve the right to explain to you the proper reasoning for HubPages FORUMS. If you don't like it, too bad. I was trying to add clarity, to your view of how HP forums are used and the fact that they are PUBLIC domain of HP members. Even outsiders of HP can read the forums, they just cannot post to them.
Why don't you learn your place in this world? It's not a right you reserve to tell me to go somewhere else. It's a public area. What part of PUBLIC do you not understand?
I can read just fine. You apparently want to limit my rights to do things in public. Essentially, that is what you are saying. How nice of you.

I can enter any public area and I don't need, require, desire or want, YOUR approval.

Theological discussion is the Group of Forums this topic is part of. That's what it says on HubPages. So unless you can show me where it says otherwise, I'm sorry to say that you should stick to the topic. Also, not all theological discussion is people debating over who's God/beliefs are real.

Typical. Selective reading and comprehension skills. How nice of you. hmm

And, just so we're on topic here- Christianity is nothing more than a hoax, driven by fear and guilt, so as to control the masses.

I'll take "You're not convincing me just by insulting by religion without proof" for 500, Cagsil.

You're funny. One only needs to compare human history's timeline with that of the growth of Religion's timeline. It would be nice IF you understood what and where humankind's development was actually at, at the time of Religion's Rise?

I have done so. I am sure you've never researched Christianity, unbiased, from an objective point of view. Because, had you, then you would know it's a hoax.

You talk the talk, but fail in walking the walk. Your actions say different than what you actually say. Unfortunate for you, YOU cannot see them for what they truly are. I don't wonder why, because I have the answer, but I am sure you haven't a clue about what I mean. Which actually will not come as a surprise to me. wink
