I've learned that the only obstacle to long-term, stable(not necessarily every second of every day) happiness is yourself.

I've learned that the people you go through life with are much more important than what you do.

I've learned that arguing on the internet can be fun tongue

Many years ago I learnt not to trust most people. Events over Xmas/New Year have taught me that I should have taken notice of what I learnt all those years ago.

It's always good to reflect back at those times.

Some key things I have learned:

    1. Trust is earned, not granted

    2. You're only as happy as you choose to be

    3. Make your own decisions; at the end of your life you won't be asking everyone else if you lived your life right. You'll be asking yourself.

    4. In order to learn anything, you have to unlearn everything you thought you knew to be begin with.

That just when you things can only get better, they suddenly get a hell of a lot worse.  And that there is always death to look forward to to relieve the tedium of it all.
