Disneyland's Main Street Electrical Parade

Updated on April 5, 2017

The Electrical parade is one of those things that everyone still talks about yet it hasn't been around in years and years. I was in high school right before they took it away and have just a glimpse of a memory about what it looked like. I remember the Pete's Dragon float and the Alice in Wonderland mushroom, other than that I remember nothing (except the music). When I saw the commercial (shown below) that it was being brought back, I might have shed a happy tear. I wanted to go and have a good look at the parade and share it with all of you.

The TV Commercial

The Electrical parade will be running from January 20th to June 18th. There was so much excitement over this parade that I actually went to go watch it the second week that it was running and there was no where, and I mean NO WHERE, to view it from because the park was so busy. I knew that I would have to wait longer to see it which was really sad for me. This is the other reason this Hub was published so long after it opened and I apologize for it.

The second time around I made sure I got a good view and it was so worth it! I absolutely loved the parade and I wish that it would stay permanent. If you have the chance go see it, do so! I definitely see why everyone went so crazy over this parade.

Pete's Dragon and the Alice float were still my favorite. I could not stop smiling the whole time! Its razzle dazzle fun and he even breathes smoke which is super cool.

Special Offers And Electrical Parade Food Items

In honor of the parade Disney went all out with cute merchandise, specialty foods and a really awesome offer for pass holders! If you have an annual pass you can purchase a special AP popcorn bucket (with proof of id and pass of course) and every refill until March 20th is only $1. This was perfect for someone like my dad because all he does is eat popcorn when we are in the park.

The Jolly Holiday Bakery on Main Street has super cute sweets in honor of the Electrical Parade. My favorites are the parfait and the Lady Bug Macaroons. I also think the Cheshire Cat cookie is adorable as well. Since we weren't able to see the parade the first time I insisted that I at least try some of the sweets!

There is also a PB&J eclair that was the cutest thing I have ever seen so I had to get it! I literally could not eat the stamped chocolate on the front and took it off to eat the eclair. I am not sure how I feel about the filling on the inside but I really like that it was a kid friendly attempt at a dessert.

I am definitely planning on going back to see it a second time before it leaves for good. I hope you all enjoyed this little sneak peak at the parade. I had so much fun going to see it and I hope that they bring it back again instead of retiring it.
