Rides Open During Night of Joy

Several of the most popular rides at Magic Kingdom are open during Night of Joy as well as merchandise venues and restaurants.

Typically, the rides that stay open during Night of Joy include:

  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Space Mountain
  • Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
  • Splash Mountain
  • Pirates of the Caribbean

Groups that arrive early will have time to experience some of Magic Kingdom's other attractions before the park closes for the event.

Typically it's best to experience other attractions besides the ones listed as the lines for these popular rides will be almost non-existent during the Night of Joy.

Best Places to Stay for Night of Joy

Staying at any Disney hotel will give you bus, monorail or boat access to the Magic Kingdom. Since the event runs late, it is very nice to have the option to take the Disney transportation and not have to worry about getting to the parking lot and driving back to your hotel.

Hotels on the monorail that runs directly to Magic Kingdom include:

  • Disney's Contemporary Resort
  • Disney's Polynesian Resort
  • Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

Also, Disney's Wilderness Lodge is accessible via boat or bus. All other on-property hotels will require you to take a bus back to your room.

Some of the "good neighbor" hotels located near Downtown Disney (soon to be Disney Springs) also have bus service but you will need to take the monorail or ferry to the Ticket and Transportation Center in order to take the bus. If you are staying off property, be sure to confirm with the hotel that late bus pick up will be available.

You can also take a taxi or drive your own vehicle to the park.

A Glorious Two-Day Event

Night of Joy has been a tradition at Magic Kingdom for two decades.

While the line-up and faces of Christian Contemporary stars have changed, the popularity of the event and the satisfaction of the guests shows why it continues to be anticipated, loved and remembered.
