Sports Teams-Which Is Your Favorite

Football is a popular sport, in fact, whether you like college football or professional football it’s a sport that is exciting, fun, money making and most of all, the team and the players that play the game.

I love football, I understand enough to get by; however, and I like the players, coaches and staff. Most of all, for what they represent and what they do to make the team better, more confident and successful.

Who Are Your Favorite Teams?

College Teams!

Football is passion, true, hard core passion that the player demonstrates when playing the game. We have seen players come and go, but the “team” has stayed behind to continue to play and win (most of the time). However, there are some good football teams to play for and there are some great college football teams. Well, the top 5 college football teams that I like and recommend are;

  1. University of Georgia
  2. North CarolinaStateUniversity
  3. Notre Dame
  4. University of Alabama
  5. ClemsonUniversity

You ask why these five, well, let me tell you.

University of Georgia

I live in Georgia and if you have never been to a University of Georgia football game, you are severely missing out. The “bulldogs” are awesome, fun and entertaining. The stadium is red, black and the hedges, make it thrilling, beautiful and most of all just cool. The fans rock, they are die hard fans that have been transferred in, married in or alumni, but don’t be fooled, they are fiercely loyal to the bulldogs and follow them year after year.

Downtown Athens features many boutiques, restaurants, churches, entertainment businesses, and service businesses. Athens is located approximately 70 miles east-northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. Travel to Athens by road from Atlanta takes approximately 1.5 hours. The area is fun and safe, the college has grown so much and the overwhelming response to the football team is infectious. Come to a game and see what I mean, University of Georgia football is a team first and the community loves it.

Fun Fact: The University of Georgia ranks 5th nationally with the number of students study abroad.

North CarolineStateUniversity

North Carolina State University (NCSU) this college is small but seems very large. Since the first football game in 1892, North Carolina State University has competed at the highest level of college athletics, winning two NCAA national championships, two AIAW titles and four other national championships. NCSU football is legendary, in my opinion because of the coaches that have come through this college. In fact, these coaches have made it the “team” and one of the best football teams in our history. By far the best coach was Lou Holtz, amazing leader he was, insightful, knowledgeable and most of all, a great manger. Second, Dick Sheridan, tough, hardcore and a leader as well. These two guys changed football for North CarolinaStateUniversity. Not to mention, the faculty and staff at the college that promoted these coaches and many others over the last few decades. This is a football team that I would want my child to play for, a professional, well organized team. Let’s not forget academically they are very strong and solid for students to learn and excel in any career.

This unique college is focused as one of the leading land-grant institutions in the nation; NC State is committed to playing an active and vital role in improving the quality of life for the citizens of North Carolina, the nation and the world. How many other colleges can say this? It’s impressive that a community, football team, staff and students care so much about the citizens around them. In addition, this college is close to other colleges, like University of North Caroline, DukeUniversity, Wake Forest University and East Carolina University, not to mention the 5 private girl’s colleges in North Carolina. In addition, to being close to other colleges, its 3 hours from the beach, 8 hours from the nation’s capital and 2 hours to the Appalachian Mountains.

Fun Fact: Coach Chuck Amato took NSCU football team to five bowls in six years, which is impressive.

University of Notre Dame

All kids, young and old, dream of running out of the tunnel of Notre Dame and playing for the Irish. The tradition is rich and the school’s basic foundation comes from the Catholic faith that is strong and prevalent throughout the college. This university strives to excel both in academics and athletics. Notre Dame is a stand alone university, which means that it does not belong to any conference like the other colleges in this article. The benefit of being a stand alone university is they get to keep the profits from all games, thus, they do not have to share money and/or profits with other schools. This is unique and different, but most of all beneficial to the university and students. The college program is above all other colleges, superior and this university has proven to be one of the top best colleges because of the many national championships they have captured. Additionally, they have produced many All-Americans like Joe Montana, Tim Brown and many others.

I don’t want to forget this college has a low student to faculty ratio which promotes structure and organization. It has beautiful picturesque campus that is breathtaking. The college believes and strives to make this university more like home and creates a positive environment for students. This wonderful magical university is perfect for almost all teenagers. The football players, staff and faculty are intelligent, top notch and just a magnificent school to attend.

Fun Fact: In January of 2001, the university added men’s varsity sports, basketball, cross-country, soccer and tennis.

University of Alabama

University of Alabama one of the oldest universities in the country, home of Coach Bear Bryant, arguably one of the best college coaches ever. The Crimson Tides, they have a unique game day atmosphere and in order for me to explain it, you have to attend a game there first. Seriously, unique does explain this crusade team that the fans love and are completely devoted too. The warrior fight is within them and they are dedicated players. The fans are just as competitive and fierce as the players. The loyalty is astonishing and yet, powerful. Go to a game and see the team within the players, staff, students and fans.

The University of Alabama is an academic community geared towards the student-centered research for the university. This means the university helps the quality of life for their students, staff and community through its unity. Tailgating is an important part of the game day activities. Tuscaloosa offers an enjoyable but safe tailgating event pre game. The University of Alabama has a strong following through its alumni which tells other how strong this community is about its university.

Fun Fact: home of Forrest Gump, he went to school there in the movie.

Clemson University

ClemsonUniversity, the home of IPTAY, which means “I Pay Ten a Year” the alumni and Clemson fans use this methodology to support and fund this football team for away games. Home of Death Valley, the football stadium. This college football program has seen its ups and downs but it has battled through it for the almighty triumph to prevail. This football team and university are respected, yet feared. I think this year they will be menacing and tough to beat. Being a Tiger is being proud, you fight and you win. ClemsonUniversity is no doubt a fighter and a winner. This university is dedicated to its students, faculty, staff, fans and the community.

ClemsonUniversity has a scholarly caliber of students that enhances the academic programs. This college has much to offer academically as well as athletically. Clemson is surrounded by other small towns and it is quant but rich in love within the public. The boutiques and shops have a lot of “orange” available in many different items. The vibe through the local society is colorful, fun and pulsating. Especially before the game starts, it bubbly and vivacious through the streets and campus life is energetic. Clemson is a college you want your children to go to, to play football or for the academics, it has a lot to offer. But let’s not forget they have an amazing library, R.M. Cooper Library has more than 1 million visits a year.

Fun Fact: One-third of Clemson’s freshman honors students graduated from high school as the top-ranked student in their class.

These Top 5 College Football Teams are remarkable because of what surrounds them and make them a great team. Football denotes “team” and a team is about your college, faculty, staff, fans and your community. When you are deciding on which college to play football for, do your research but keep in mind that football means working hard on your play and more on your studies. All universities or colleges have a lot to offer but consider these five colleges when thinking of an elite team of academics and of course, football. The may not be the greatest, but to the community and fans they are the very best.
