You will get guidance by the leading yoga instructor Barbara Benagh, who is well known in the yoga circles, and she makes the 8 included routines look so easy! I do suggest you watch first the entire DVD to see the instructor in action before you actually follow along. Also don't forget to watch the exclusive interview with Barbara Benagh for additional details and background information.

* 8 routines ranging from 10 minutes to 1 hour in length, each building up from the previous one, so the learning curve is quite easy.

Rodney Yee's Yoga for Beginners is another very popular beginner yoga DVD, and another one on my recommended list. Some people prefer in fact Rodney Yee's DVD and they swear that this is the one DVD that really helped me learn the routines the easiest way possible. Like I said before, it's a matter of preferences. Both DVDs shown here are top notch.
An ex-ballet dancer, Rodney Yee is now a well known yoga instructor, followed from all over the world. Rodney also gives you tips on how to get over the common mistakes that many newbies make.
What you get on the DVD:
* two beginner workouts fully explained lasting about 20 minutes each: the morning routine shown by Rodney and the evening routine shown by Colleen

Yoga: Gentle Practice
Yoga: Gentle Practice is the perfect introduction to yoga for the people who have problems with body flexibility. The starting routines are very easy and gentle while building up your flexibility as you go along with the exercises. If you're not in the practice of gymnastics, running or any other daily exercises, then your body is becoming flexible over time.
And this is why this particular yoga DVD is perfect for you: it doesn't pushes you to the limits, doesn't make it difficult to learn the poses because you can't bend your body enough. It's really so gentle that many middle aged folks and elderly are using it to start with yoga.

Yoga for Inflexible People 3 DVD Set (50 Routines)
The Biggest Loser: The Workout - Weight Loss Yoga
The Biggest Loser: The Workout - Weight Loss Yoga is a rather specific type of yoga DVD focusing mostly on helping people losing weight. I mean let's face it, pretty much all of us want to shed a few pounds from some 'interesting' places, so while it seemingly focuses on just a small group of people, you'd be surprised just how many buy it to help them do do that.
However aside from the 'shed pounds' benefit, this is an overall great beginner yoga DVD that is perfect for anyone just starting out with the practice. IN all honestly, I think the 'weight loss' part is more of a marketing ploy to attract a particular group of people, and that saddens me because it's a wonderful beginner yoga set of routines overall.
The yoga instructor Bob Harper gives very detailed instructions, demonstrations and examples that you can easily follow through the interactive menus. A very well put together DVD.
What you get with the DVD
* 3 yoga workouts
* a 5 minutes warm-up routine
* a 5 minutes cool-down routine
