Best Yoga DVD For Beginners

If you want to learn Yoga from the comfort of your own home, here you will find the best Yoga DVD for beginners. In fact there is quite difficult just to find one, so I will give you a review of my top favorite Yoga DVDs for beginners and you can pick and choose based on what you feel is right for you.

There are many reasons why people would pick a different one, it could be something as small as the voice, look or tone of the teacher showing you the steps. Or it could be the pace of the entire exercises. So I don't want to push on you a single one. However what I

Yoga for Beginners Boxed Set

review below, are all top notch DVDs that are really worthwhile investing in.

When you take up practicing yoga, it could be for entirely different reasons than the next person who decides to learn yoga. You might want to do yoga to lose weight, or for stress relief. Or simply because you are interested in the spiritual aspect of living. Whatever the reason, don't forget to have fun while learning. And you'll soon see that your life will never be the same as it was before getting started with yoga.

Yoga For Beginners

Yoga for Beginners is one of my favorite yoga DVDs to learn from. If you're only starting now with the practice, I highly recommend this DVD. You will get guidance by the leading yoga instructor Barbara Benagh, who is well known in the yoga circles, and she makes the 8 included routines look so easy! I do suggest you watch first the entire DVD to see the instructor in action before you actually follow along. Also don't forget to watch the exclusive interview with Barbara Benagh for additional details and background information.

What you get on the DVD:

* 8 routines ranging from 10 minutes to 1 hour in length, each building up from the previous one, so the learning curve is quite easy.

* an exclusive interview with Barbara Benagh, the yoga instructor

* selected and related articles from the Body and Soul magazine

Overall one of the best intro DVD to yoga for anyone who is thinking of picking up this practice for stress relief, improving body flexibility, increasing muscle strength, losing weight and overall for improving the well being.

Rodney Yee's Yoga for Beginners
Rodney Yee's Yoga for Beginners

Rodney Yee's Yoga for Beginners

Rodney Yee's Yoga for Beginners is another very popular beginner yoga DVD, and another one on my recommended list. Some people prefer in fact Rodney Yee's DVD and they swear that this is the one DVD that really helped me learn the routines the easiest way possible. Like I said before, it's a matter of preferences. Both DVDs shown here are top notch.

An ex-ballet dancer, Rodney Yee is now a well known yoga instructor, followed from all over the world. Here you only get 2 yoga routines, however they are exceptionally well explained, in full detailed. You can really follow along right away. Rodney also gives you tips on how to get over the common mistakes that many newbies make.

What you get on the DVD:

* two beginner workouts fully explained lasting about 20 minutes each: the morning routine shown by Rodney and the evening routine shown by Colleen

* two ways to follow the instructions: with audio or pose only instruction

Yoga: Gentle Practice
Yoga: Gentle Practice

Yoga: Gentle Practice

Yoga: Gentle Practice is the perfect introduction to yoga for the people who have problems with body flexibility. The starting routines are very easy and gentle while building up your flexibility as you go along with the exercises. If you're not in the practice of gymnastics, running or any other daily exercises, then your body is becoming flexible over time.

And this is why this particular yoga DVD is perfect for you: it doesn't pushes you to the limits, doesn't make it difficult to learn the poses because you can't bend your body enough. It's really so gentle that many middle aged folks and elderly are using it to start with yoga.

What you get with the DVD:

* 6 yoga routines: 2 easy ones of 30 minutes each, 2 routines that build up from the previous two, 45 minutes each, and 2 routines that are 1 hour each going into a bit more advanced poses.

* a Yoga Pose Guide that fully detail 23 yoga poses with the common newbie mistakes, tips on getting them right, and benefits.

Gentle Yoga for Every Body

The 12 yoga routines are broken down into 3 main types: very gentle, gentle and gentle challenge. A very calm and relaxing setting give you the positive flow that will help you get into the routines with ease. Really recommended for any beginner who wants to have the best and most gentle introduction to yoga possible.

The Biggest Loser: The Workout - Weight Loss Yoga
The Biggest Loser: The Workout - Weight Loss Yoga

The Biggest Loser: The Workout - Weight Loss Yoga

The Biggest Loser: The Workout - Weight Loss Yoga is a rather specific type of yoga DVD focusing mostly on helping people losing weight. I mean let's face it, pretty much all of us want to shed a few pounds from some 'interesting' places, so while it seemingly focuses on just a small group of people, you'd be surprised just how many buy it to help them do do that.

However aside from the 'shed pounds' benefit, this is an overall great beginner yoga DVD that is perfect for anyone just starting out with the practice. IN all honestly, I think the 'weight loss' part is more of a marketing ploy to attract a particular group of people, and that saddens me because it's a wonderful beginner yoga set of routines overall.

The yoga instructor Bob Harper gives very detailed instructions, demonstrations and examples that you can easily follow through the interactive menus. A very well put together DVD.

What you get with the DVD

* 3 yoga workouts

* a 5 minutes warm-up routine

* a 5 minutes cool-down routine

There are many seniors and elderly who would like to pick up yoga and thankfully there are several awesome DVDs geared to the senior members who lack the flexibility of a 20 year old, but want to keep in shape (with mind and body) nevertheless. Check out the DVDs below, they all are great for anyone just starting out and feels like is a bit older than 'the rest of us'.

A great yoga DVD for busy people. By practicing just about 20 minutes a day with the routines from this DVD will give you lots of health benefits. You don't have to practice for hours in order to help you. It is also perfect for those who have already practiced a bit, want something a bit more 'intermediate' but are beginners enough to still be shy of venturing into the advanced programs.
