I am an Alex Smith fan and would love to have played out last season with him as the starting QB. Would the 49ers have another SB?
This year, it's nice to see him playing well, winning games and doing it with some other guys that didn't get a real fair shake of the stick. Andy Reid and the Chiefs must be feeling very good about where they came from last year to this season's start.

While I think it's a longshot and it's probably not a good thing to put Alex Smith through if you don't get Peyton, but it sounds like the 49ers have seen him workout and have given him a physical.
