Huge hockey fan for the past 20 years. Flyers are my home team but a bigger fan of the league.

Crazy first round. Typical Bolts sucking. I don't think Stamkos is that game changing guy. But then again the Wings are smothering him. Which puts pressure on Callahan.

Canucks are still the Canucks. Good to see my American boy Johnny Hockey playing great (he's is from my neck of the woods)

I am still predicting a Wild vs NYR final series.

By the way, GREAT discussion on the forum. Keep it up guys! I will have an article later today if anyone is interested smile

Loved the Bullies, especially when the ruskies refuse to come out cuz the Bullies were mean.

If Erickson stops standing around and Quincy keeps up the good work in the corners, the Wings should finish the Bolts tonight.  Shoot high and quick.

Me! Though not as much the past couple of years because my team is BEYOND terrible and not fun to watch in the slightest... (can you guess which team I cheer for?!)

I usually join a few hockey pools to keep me involved in the rest of the league but didn't join any this season and I miss it like crazy!

I'm anxiously awaiting playoffs so that I have something to get me excited again.

...it's worse than that, I'm afraid.

In fact, our teams play each other tonight! Should be a real battle to see who can suck more.

It's a miracle! lol Thank goodness your team is a mess, too. Kessel is awesome, I love his interviews. I wish we had someone that honest and refreshing on my team instead of just the same old garbage excuses and cliche disappointment.

At this point I'm putting all of my hockey-related energy and passion into hoping the Canucks miss the playoffs. I hate them so much.

@aimeF The Oilers Won last night! Toronto is such a joke, I actually just wrote a blog post about Dion Phaneough over at PuckingHockey.com

I am going to contribute some hockey articles here as well. But this latest one had to be on my blog. I am glad to see that's I am not the only hockey fan here!

Maybe next year for Oilers                    ?

At least the Oilers get the first draft pick again! They seem to be able to suck despite having got it 4 times out of the last 6 or so! Good job they stop the top teams like Detroit and the Penguins getting the first picks.

So what's bad about the Wings, eh.

Nothing! I was just saying that poor old Edmonton still suck after winning the top draft pick 4 times in 6 years. If Detroit and the Penguins had been in that position then Edmonton would be left to suck forever. It is just as well the bottom teams get a better chance of winning the first pick. Maybe Toronto or the Sabres will win next year they definitely need to!

Problem with first picks is they are usually wasted on someone who has peaked.  Looking around the league, I would be surprised to see many 1st picks in the top spots.  It's those sleepers that make a team usually.  1999 draft is a prime example. Stephan picked #1.  Played one season in the NHL after 8 years in the minors. Same draft, Zetterberg, 7th round 210th pick.  (Of course the Sedins were #2 & 3.)  Don't like Ken Holland's way of doing things but I have to give him credit for lining up young talent.  It just seems he wastes it trading young guys for old at crunch time.

Anyway, I am hoping to see for Montreal for the cup.  And since it doesn't look like Nashville is going to go any further, I was hoping to see that match up.   But the Rangers just look to tuff.  (I don't root for any pro NY teams.)  I don't think the Wings have a defense to get past the 2nd round, but they looked good last night so.....

New management will get the Oilers back to when they were in their prime. It's about time this change happened. They have a stellar offense, just need defense and a decent goaltender now. Taylor Hall, one of my favorites, but needs to stay healthy for once

Ditto for Detroit, but  Mrazek may take care of one problem.

Definitely very exciting that Connor McDavid will be an Oiler. smile Toronto media was quite unhappy about that. I keep thinking that there's just no way Edmonton can keep sucking as badly as they have... I figure at some point that's got to be true.

I've really enjoyed the playoffs so far, looks like the Canucks are all but finished which makes me SOOOO happy! I'm rooting for the Islanders to win the whole thing, they were Oilers-level bad not that long ago so they have a place in my heart.

My 3 picks for the finals is first Chicago, Montreal, then NY Rangers. Had these three picks before the playoffs. Two of them just advanced, now waiting for the Habs.

I had mostly Nashville and Pittsburgh in my playoff pool so I'm completely out of it before the second round even starts! So sad.

But the Canucks lost last night after being up 3-0 so I'm pretty pleased about that. smile smile smile

Shea Weber is why the Preds lost. They could have kicked out the Hawks...shame

Do you think Weber (Preds) would matter as much as Price is for the Canadians?
