whatever went wrong, when the British Luger fell off the track. I couldn't watch and so I turned...
NBC World News off just as they began the coverage. But I wonder, what went wrong?
The luger that died was Georgian. Not from the state of Georgia in the USA; but, the country of Georgia (close to Russia).
Right now, the opinion on the death is that it was a combination of a very fast track and a reasonably inexperienced luger. The track has not been declared to be unsafe or the cause of the accident so far; although, they lowered the height of the launch pad after the accident.
I imagine it will be quite a while before the truth, whatever it may be, will emerge.
The family has also called for an investigation into the incident. Something about the post that he hit being in the danger zone and not properly covered.
