Do you think it is counter-productive to have two professional sports teams in one state?

Such as the New York Mets and New York Yankees? I think that multiple teams in one state representing a ctiy is ok. Such as the Oakland A's and L.A. What do you think?

I think it depends on the market and population of the area.  New york is a great example of how multiple sports franchises can flourish in one area.  I also think that Toronto could easily support multiple NHL teams due to its large population, and love for the game.

It depends on the population and size of the state. A really small state with small population, then yes it's counter productive. But larger states with high population such as california, no way is it counter productive.
