I have to go with the Yankees as well.

NY isn't my favorite team -- pity me, I'm a Tribe fan sad -- but I don't see anyone stopping them.

Though a match-up with Torre's Dodgers would bring a little more drama to the WS!

I gotta hand it to you, that would make for some really high-ratings, due to the many implications of the managers (or Joes as it were: Joe vs. Joe) old versus young...Manny Ramirez is a Yankee killer for one, as his records indicate and he also has the most post-season homeruns in MLB history!  However, in the end, I think that the Yankees will prevail, but they will first have to surpass the Red Sox yet again!  We kicked their butts all-season long, however, beating them 11 times out of a possible 12!

I am gonna have to go with the Phillies even though i am a Redsoxs fan lately the sox just don't have it after getting swept this past weekend by the yanks. Truthfully i think its going to come down to the Yanks and Philly. With Philly winning.

I'm a Cubs fan (yeah) and I have to say the Yankees look to be pretty unstoppable.  I'll pick them over Philedalphia in the World Series.

I don't know...The Phillies still have to get past the Dodgers and the Yankees still have to get past the Halos before that happens.  As much as I don't want to see the Joe vs. Joe in the World Series, as I still like Joe Torre very much.  One one hand, I rather see him lose to the Phillies than have to face him and on the other hand, I want the Yankees to play the Dodgers because the Yankees match up better against them and also it's an old classic New York match-up.  Time will definitely tell...

Corporate America will win the World Series unless everyone refuses to watch it. Why do commercials dictate when the next inning will start?! Close second will be the Yanks in six against Torre's Dodgers.

I am rooting for a "Freeway Series" this year as both of my teams are in the running, Dodgers + Angels, in California, if two teams are "down the road from each other, close cities" it is called a "Freeway Series"smile

And just how many freeways do you have to drive on to get from one stadium to another?

Deborah-Lynnposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Luckily one, The 5 Freeway South gets me to Dodgers' Stadium
Anaheim/Edison Field Stadium, Angels' Home is further south off the 57 Freeway, about 1 hour and 15-30 minutes depending on traffic!

Oh I am not sure if two other teams closely located were to play off in a Freeway Series, but for California, our teams are pretty easily accessable....big_smile

The Phillies and the Yankees look tough.  I think the Dodgers are just about done after last night and the Angels are hanging on by a thread.

The Yankees should be going for the sweep of the Angels tonight with Sabbathia on the hill, but instead, the series will go at least to Game 5, which I predicted.  I see him pitching no more than 100 pitches.
