How do you feel about barefoot running shoes like the FiveFinger toe shoes?
Do they make your feet hurt when running? Do they take a long time to get used to? I'm thinking about investing in some and I'm nervous to spend the money if I'm going to hate them.
They definitely take a while to get used to but I love my pair. I don't do a huge amount of distance in them but try to use them a couple times a week. I know some ultramarathoners who have run 100 miles in them though, it just takes a while to build up to it
I use these while training for powerlifting meets, or if the gym I'm at won't allow me to train barefooted, they are pretty decent all around shoes.

What are the best types of running shoes?

Let say the grocery store or convenient store. That is as opposed to a park or a swimming pool or beach. In other words someone is fully barefoot in what in conventionally an unconventional setting.

Do you ever walk bare foot outside?I saw someone in a hotel who was a european tourist. I noticed he walked barefoot. Is there an advantage of going without shoes?

If the heel of your shoes suddenly got broken en route to work, what would be your temporary fix?

No. I seem to have very weak ankles. Have broken an ankle bone at least once, torn ligaments and had bad sprains-- even when wearing sensible shoes. At this point in my life, I wouldn't dare.
