2012 BCS Championship - What team will win this year?

    Notre Dame, Alabama.... and why?

Alabama has to get by Georgia in the SEC Championship Game first, or else it's Notre Dame vs. Georgia in the BCS Championship.

I'll pick Notre Dame because I have better odds of being right owing to the fact we are not sure about the other team yet.

It is set - ND versus Alabama!

I will choose ND, tough for them!

Alabama was real. Georgia was real close to the end zone there when time ran out. So now we have to wait and wait some more for the big game.

I'm gonna go with either team from the SEC. They're the toughest conference and ND hasn't really played anyone this year. In the SEC you're guaranteed to play at least 3 or 4 really good football teams. ND doesn't stand a chance against anyone from that conference. You can argue that they beat USC, but USC wasn't special this year like they were all hyped up to be. So whatever team prevails in the SEC title game will beat ND, in my opinion.

Irish beat Oklahoma (#11) at their house and also Stanford (#9). Alabama got beat at home by Texas A&M (#8) and Georgia got trounced by South Carolina (#10). I don't buy "doesn't stand a chance" for any of the top dozen teams against another.

I suspect Alabama will win once they get by Georgia in a close SECCG.  ND has had a great year.  They have a good solid offense and a tough defense.  But, where ND will have trouble is in their secondary against any SEC team.  They have SEC type DL, but don't have the depth there of an Alabama, LSU or Georgia.  So, the team of destiny (ND) meets a team of reality (Alabama).  It will be a good game.  But, Alabama has much too much talent for ND to handle right now.
