Four first-year eligible players Tim Brown, Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith and Aeneas Williams, are among the 25 semifinalists being considered for the Pro Football Hall of Fames Class of 2010.
The Selection Committee will meet in South Florida, on Saturday, February 6, 2010, to elect the Hall of Fame Class of 2010. The election results will be announced at 5 p.m. ET during a one-hour NFL Network special, live from the Broward County Convention Center.
Everyone is saying Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith are shoe in's.
Im rooting for Cris Carter and Shannon Sharpe to get the phone call as well.
Anyone else have any thoughts or who you pulling for to wear that yellow jacket this year?
Jerry Rice and Emmmitt Smith are both LOCKED in for Hall of Fame.
Tim Brown might not go this round.
But, don't pay much attention to who is going, unless Cowboys players are involved.
LOL . . you got Emmiitt for that one. . and rumor has it. . he is a lock
Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith first ballot hall of famers for sure as they should be ! Tim Brown I do not know if he will be first round but he definitely belongs there too !
Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice are locks!
Shannon Sharpe Chris Carter maybe.
I pulling for Shannon .. I remember seeing him last year all week leading up to it. . people were telling him he was getting in. . and then to see him the day the new inductees were named . . the show had to go on and there he was .. sad as could be . . . and I think the yellow jacket would look good on him
I think Shannon and Chris both should be there.
Shannon Sharpe will get in eventually, just like Cris Carter.
They both will get in. Will be on this ballot? Who knows.
The consensus on both are that they are Hall of Fame Receivers.
I think Cris Carter should go before Shannon Sharpe goes. But, that can be debateable to whatever end.
I think most would agree with you on Cris Carter . when I was researching wide receivers . for anyone I asked who they thought was one of the greatest WR's . . hands down all I heard was Cris Carters name.
I guess we will know come Sat. who gets in. . I was just wondering who people were pulling for. . .
tell us about Freddie jobs. . you have been so quiet now for too many days!
Did I miss something?
Who is Freddie Mitchell? Curious to know now that you bring it up.
a iggle that never amounted to much .. jobs likes him . .but jobs is an iggle . . when TO came to the iggless Freddie didnt play so much cause they had TO .. i think his careeer went all down from there but lets wait and see what jobs had to say , he brought him up
and a philly fan that always speaks the truth , good bad or indifferent! bravo!
tyty...my honesty pains even myself at times!! You think McNabb (a possible Hall of Famer) will leave Philly in the offseason?
who is to say. . is Osi going tobe traded to the jets!
time will tell all the changes, , one game at a time here,, ''so who u picking
Yes, yes...I answered in the other thread!
Am I seeing this correctly...The Giants are thinking about trading Osi for Kerry Rhodes?? I think that would be unwise.
hahah i saw that too. . man the way the Giants were this year .. and my new love for Rex Ryan I actually got excited when I read that . . I think it was just someone trying to make news. .but can you imagine Osi on that defense .. it would surely take them to new heights !
And I think Shannon Sharpe should be a shoe in! Great Tight End, 3 rings...

Is Jerry Rice the greatest football player of all time?

He was caught gambling. He has been permanently banned from baseball including the Hall of Fame. Is this a fair punishment? Are there other players who have committed worse crimes who are not banned from the game or the Hall of Fame? Should they be banned?

Does Don Mattingly deserve to be in the Hall of Fame? Now I know he does not have the numbers, but I'm not a stats guy. I go by what I saw and he was a great Yankee. Yes, it matters if you play in New York. The pressure is that much greater. A .300 average in NY is like a .325 average in Kansas...

Luke Donald won the PGA tour money list and the European tour money list, both in the same year. If he doesn't win a major is this historic feat worthy of the golf hall of fame?

Should Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, and Sammy Sosa be voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame? The Baseball Hall of Fame ballot for 2013 was just released. Given these players alleged steroid involvement, should they be voted in the Hall?
by jacobt2 13 years ago
Sammy Sosa was a great player. He really was. But now, on June 16, 2009, it was proven that he used steroids in 2003. I would assume that he used them before also. Was his great single season home run record chase with Mark McGwire legitimate or was he on steroids at that time? We may never know,...
