Jets at New England - this one is sure to be a great game....alot on the line for these teams.
A Jets victory means a likely No. 1 playoff seed, while a Pats win gives them a chance at one. The Jets are on franchise-record eight-game road winning streak and the Pats have won 15 consecutive home games in December.
This is a hard one to predict but Im going with the Jets .. The Patriots are ranked dead last against the pass (31st in total yards given up, 22nd in points given up and 16th in against the rush)
The the key to a Jets win is is to pressure Brady, and pressure him often. Ground and Pound the name of the game.
Shari as you know. I can't stand the Patriots. This is no doubt the game of the weekend.
Now if only I was in SD we could watch it together!!!
only thing thou . . is I am not sure i could watch the Bolts !!!
OOOHHH I would love you to be here. But the Bolts seem to be making the turn now. And the rest of their schedule is looking weak. So who knows ?
Rivers is getting his groove.. . but its the year of the Jets . ..
I like your style Eye. .. but you already knew that
Happy Hannukah Shari!
In this game, Me will cheer for the JETS because of you!
Patriots will win. They are the better team. If it weren't for three last second wins, the Jets would be close to .500.
P.S. I am not a fan of either team.
Roti-
If it werent for the last 3 seconds of a game. . .would there be a game.
Championship teams know how to finish a game and the bottom line at the end of the day is who gets to tally that game in their win column.
Some people call this being "clutch"
So tell me rotl - what is it that makes the Pats the "better team" ?
from your mouth to the football g-ds ears!
Thanks Maita - sending you much love and light thanks for the Jets cheer! Your Steelers have the Ravens in front of them this week and you know you got me in your corner for this win. And I think 2 weeks our guys kick off against one another. . anyway you look at it. .it is either gonna be the Jets or the Steelers as the AFC champs. ..
LOL! I guess you are a die hard fan. I'm sorry but great teams don't need luck and last second miracles three weeks in a row.
In my opinion, Sanchez is average, while Brady is the best QB in the league. The Jets are more hot air than actual play making. The Jets offense is suspect at best. The Patriots are a real team, they do it with role players, not "superstars" at every position. Patriots will stay consistent while Edwards, Tomlinson, and Sanchez are erratic and unreliable at best. Even Darelle Revis is no threat anymore. The Patriots know how to win big games in the playoffs. Just because the Jets had a lucky run (that no one can really explain) last year doesn't mean they're going to do the same this year.
Again, just my opinion.
A die hard fan, you got that right . . as I am die hard FOOTBALL fan. The Jets this year happen to be a team that I think has all the elements that make up a team of destiny. I also happen to be a Giants fan. It is part of my birth right. I am a NY girl that loves sports. And if it werent the NY Jets (I am a recovering Jet fan, the likes of Farve, Belicheck,"Superstars" as you would call some, sent me away years ago . . .the Mudd Bowl in Miami to be the exact day was the day I stopped believing) But as a NY'er I am lucky in that I have 'options' And just cause I am a Giant fan does not mean I think that they are the BEST. Its the game of football, and in the NFL - well anything can happen.
Show me a great team (Rams,Packers) maturing, growing together, defining all that is means to be a teammate on a great team and you bet our bottom dollar I will root them on. Like it is hard for me to root for the Eagles but I admire the QB Vick is and watching the effort that the Iggles are putting together.
You say the Jets are more hot air than actual play making - if that were true and they wouldn't be making the clutch plays they seem to come up with. And if they were all hot air they would not be 9-2. Listen to anyone of them talk and they are a team that is built on coaches and players coming together to be the best they can be. They sure make NY proud.
Im booking my ticket to Dallas with my frequent flier miles. And hopefully boarding the plane cheering the flight boys in the goal of bringing the Lombardi trophy home
Good luck to your Jets, I hope you get to see them in Dallas. But most objective sports fans would put their money on the Pats over the Jets to go all the way.
The Patriots have Tom Brady and they have no personality cheater Coach Bill. They have an iffy defense which does seem to have the capacity to make the big play. They may not always look great, but they have beaten the Ravens, Chargers, Steelers, and Colts, all the while keeping their mouths shut.
The Jets, just watch the FUN these guys bring to the game. LT has come alive, Holmes is humbled and catching the ball, Sanchez is growing into the stud NFL QB that is his future, ah I could go on bragging. So I will just leave it there. I love the Jets - and love me some Rex. Guess the Pats and their fans just like to keep their mouths shut. And I guess I can understand why. . It has been a rivalry of sorts for 50 years - and they are probably still licking their last wounds though from the other NY team that took the trophy the year they were gonna be perfect. Yes, this way if they lose they can quietly walk away with no one really expecting more from them.
Here in New York even if the ball doesnt bounce our way come Monday Night in Gillette Stadium, the Jets can swagger away . .still smiling the magic that they bring every week, all good energy to bring to the 3rd meeting that these 2 teams probably have in their near future.
Have you issues with stepchildren?
They too deserve love.
Why not back up your cheers for your team (and the game) with some heart instead of verbally hitting your opponent with nonsense.
Jets 36-28 Pats is my complete guestimation for the game
Hard to pick this game,i always want Cowboys,Pats and The RAVENS TO LOSE .Good luck Wave Girl except if any of the N.Y.teams play 6Burgh.Another great week end in the N.F.L.
Patriots defense is averaging 28 ppg against them. Jets are better but not by much in defense. I would go with the superior defense which belongs to the Jets. But I am hoping for a high scoring game, my fantasy team depends on it.
If it turns into a high scoring game, the Patriots will win easily.
I hope it becomes a high scoring affair, I have LT, Welker & Shane Graham playing tonight in fantasy football and my playoff seeding depends on them performing. Lets go LT! 150 yards with a touchdown isn't too much to ask right?
Sadly, I was short by 4.5 pts. But Sanchez threw that game away. Not sure what happened to Revis and rest of the Jets but they looked like kids playing a man's game.
Midget kids vs. men from that tribe in Africa where everyone is over 7 feet tall.
Wow... what a butt whooping!
Like I said, the Jets are more hot air than play making. They need to do less talking and more practicing. They have not beaten a winning team since Week 2!
The Patriots are clearly a much better team.
Rex Ryan should go ahead and kiss Bill Belichick's ring because that is as close as he's going to get to one this year.
I don't want to jinx the Jets so I'm not saying a thing.
It's fun to look back at this thread now, he he. The Jets were not nearly as good as their record indicated. They won in overtime on two consecutive weeks against the Browns and the Lions. They won on a last minute touchdown against Houston. This has all happened in the past month, and none of these opponents are strong teams. New England is the only solid team they've beat this season (in week 2), and the Patriots avenged that loss and then some last night.
Of the Jets 9 wins, 7 came against opponents who currently have a losing record, 1 came against an opponent with a .500 record (Miami), and just 1 came against a team with a winning record, and that same team beat them by 42 points last night.
The Jets took a whooping last night. Sanchez was so pissed off he couldn't think straight. I felt bad for them, I'm not a Brady fan.
Be strong girl, be strong, close your eyes and I shall rip it off ....gently
This Jets vs Dolphins game is a nail biter! What's wrong with the Jets? Are they self destructing?
The Jets had a big offensive slump last season before pulling it together in the playoffs and getting to the AFCC. So they might not be ready to head off into the sunset just yet.
Wouldn't be a bad idea for them to get a kicker who can hit a field goal, though. That tends to come in handy during the playoffs.

Where would you rank his performance among the greatest playoff performances of the past?

The Jets are underdogs again in this game, although this time only by 3 points (some gamblers would probably call that line "soft"). What do you think of this one? Can the Jets find that magic for the 3rd straight week? The Steelers have a different type of passing attack than the...

Here we go again.Seattle at San Francisco tonight to start us off. 49ers coming off a real bad hair day and 26-3 humiliation at home to the Giants. Seahawks gave Tom Brady a real bad hair day and squeaked out a 1-point win against the Patriots.49ers favored by 7 1/2. That sounds high to me. I'm...
