This weeks game between the Jets and the Giants has New York has been talking as if these 2 teams were huge rivals. Papers all have headlines saying things like "Who will own the City". Thought the Jets are officially the home team, they are both in the home field. Most New Yorkers are either a jet fan or they bleed blue. Personally I love them both, i grew up loving the Giants from my Dad and my brother trained me to root for the green.

Bottom line is there are gigantic playoff ramifications for both the Jets and the Giants. I guess I want the Jets to win a little bit more as I love Rex Ryan and all the energy he brings to the city. I could go on and on breaking it all down which I want to win more and why,  but either way, one of my teams is going to win and stay alive and the other. . well.......

The Jets are still in control their destiny. At 8-6, they are tied with the Cincinnati Bengals, and with the Titans and Raiders a game back breathing down their neck The Jets have to take care of business in this weekends game against the Giants. Then they take on Miami on the road in a real rivalry divisions game. If the Jets and the Bengals both finish the season at 10-6, the Jets would hold the tiebreaker.

The Giants also hold the keys to their own fate. With a win against the Jets this Sunday, the Giants would go into their last game next week with a chance to win the NFC East, versus their hated rival, the Dallas Cowboys.

Not going to be all that much fun but one of my teams is going to win. . Anyone else have a hard choice with who they are rooting for this weekend? Biggest upset on Christmas day?

    Hey Shari,

I'm rooting for the Jets to take out the Giants. lol In that game at least. My rooting for them will be over once they dispatch the Giants.

I'll have nothing to worry about as long as Dallas takes care of the Eagles. wink

      Hey Ray!

Judging by the way Vick is playing (especially given that his ribs are healed) it is going to be quite a task.to beat the Eagles . .I think as far as Dallas is concerned its all who is going to have a tougher mental game . .

than again as far as the Jets and the Giants  . .same rings true. .. many in NY are taking the Giants as they think Manning is the better QB. Personally all around I think the Jets have the better team as they have the better coach.

But it is the NFL and anything in NFL on any given day can happen!

This is the test Dallas has to pass, because the defense needs to step up their game to contain Vick. He's not much of a pocket passer and never has been. So, that's why Dallas kept out a couple of their defensive people in their last game.

Help with injuries by playing less. And, I think not only is Felix Jones going to have a good day, but look for Laurent Robinson and Miles Austin to have great games too.

Dallas matches up well against the Eagles overall. So, it should be an interesting game. I'm not interested in the Jets and Giants, except for I want the Jets to win, this way the game against the Giants is irrelevant as long as Dallas Wins against the Eagles. wink

But, you're right on any given day, anything can happen in the NFL.

Cute Shari. I talk baseball when it's in season and I talk football when baseball season is over for my team. When football season is over for my team, then I'll stop talking about it too. That's always what I said to you about the sports I follow. tongue Nothing new there.
            lol lol

nah you always would come in and say you were rooting for Dallas but that you really didnt follow the game. . baseball is a whole other story and I cant comment on your involvement in it as I never really follow the baseball threads. .

but thanks for the giggle on this one!

I don't follow football while baseball season is still presently playing. I always am a fan of Dallas and that's never going to change. I just don't talk football until the baseball season is completely over with. I like to concentrate on one sport at a time.

2-13 for Colts with only Jacksonville remaining.

2-12 for the others with much tougher schedules remaining.

The Colts proved in '09 that they can give away meaningless games at the end of the season, let's do it one more time...
