49ers definitely need a reciever that can go deep. I hooe this is their guy.
Interesting. This is a team that finally seems to have gotten it together after Singletary, and now they're adding a guy who has the potential to restir the pot. Still, Moss + Crabtree + Davis will be a pretty formidable selection of targets for Mr. Smith if it works out.
I love my 49ers and I can only see upside to this. Not a huge risk because it's just one year and if it works out it can give you another deminsion to your offense...which they need desperately.
Exactly. It's like when the Bills picked up Terrell Owens for a year. He still had a lot left in the tank, and the only risk was team chemistry. The contract is small enough they can just give him the boot if he tries to cause trouble, and since he knows that he probably won't.

Pulling big time for the 49ers this weekend vs the Saints. It's going to be interesting to see if the Niners defense can stop Drew. If so, they'll win. If it's a shoot out, not looking so good.
